Tutorial: Manually Twisted Wire

This lesson shows you how to $reate twisted wires
%anually by hand! This &ery easy
te$hni'ue is a (reat use )or turnin( too
%any e*$ess wires on the +ie$e you are
$reatin( into intri$ate de$oration o) the
+ie$e, instead o) tri%%in( the wires and
wastin( the% o))! This also allows you to
easily $reate -)ili(ree. wire with &ery
%ini%u% tools /+liers only0! 1nd sin$e it is
%anually $reated, it also allows you to
ha&e di))erent loo2s o) the twist de+endin(
on how )ar the an(le between the 3 wires!
This tutorial is written as an EASY project.
Please read the entire tutorial carefully
before you start creating!
Materials:
Round wire, any %etal and si4e o) your
$hoi$e /)ro% 56(a736(a0, len(th as needed
Tools:
Wire $utter

:e)ore we (et start %a2in( the twisted wire, here
are so%e ti+s you need to 2now to (et a $lean
and e&en twisted wire:
5! S+lay both wires e&enly, sa%e an(le )or
ea$h side )ro% the %eetin( +oint o) the
two wires!
3! The )arther the an(le between the two
wires, the s%aller and neater the twist will
be! The $loser the an(le, the bi((er/lon(er
the twist will be and usually less neat!

Step '( Cut wire o) your $hoi$e as lon( as
needed, then )old into 3 sa%e len(th wires!
Strai(hten u+ the wires!
Step )( Aor% a loo+ in the $enter o) the wire!
Ma2e a loo+ bi( enou(h )or you to hold with your
non7do%inant hand! S+lay ea$h side o) the wire
out e&enly at ea$h side o) the loo+! Re%e%ber
that the bi((er the an(le o) the s+lay, the s%aller
the twist will be, and &i$e &ersa as %entioned
be)ore!
Step *( Hold the loo+ with your non7do%inant
hand and +la$e your do%inant hand in the
+osition as +i$tured to start twistin(!

%essy wires with nylon 9aw +liers then $ontinue
twistin(!
Step /( When the twisted wire is (ettin( lon(,
%o&e your non7do%inant hand )ro% the loo+ and
(ri+ the twisted wire to (et a )ir% hold o) it! The
)ir% hold o) your non7do%inant hand will hel+ you
to $ontinue twistin( e&enly and $lean!

Step 0( When )inished, strai(hten the twisted
wire with nylon 9aw +liers!
Tips: When you ha&e )inished, also twist the loo+
to (et the %ost use o) your wire! Re%e%ber to
s+lay wires on both sides o) the loo+ e&enly
be)ore twistin(!

your twisted wire is ready to useC

Step ''( To %a2e a twisted wire )ro% two
di))erent wire $olors, $ut the 3 wires with the
sa%e len(th! Cross the two end o) the wires with
the sa%e an(le )ro% the %eetin( +oint!
Step ')( Hold the end o) both wires with your
non7do%inant hand and use your do%inant hand
to twist the wires! To (et started, +la$e your
do%inant hand as +i$tured then start twistin(
ba$2wards!
