Rheology of Granular Mixtures through Inclined Chutes
(M.Tech thesis under the guidance of Prof. Devang V Khakhar) Jan 08 Present
Granular materials show anomalous behavior based on the way they were handled. The
intrinsic flow behavior is not yet known completely, so they provide a challenging job for
scientists and researchers.
The present work deals with the study of flow of mixture of particles through chutes using
high speed camera and image analysis technique. C and FORTRAN codes were developed to
find the particle positions and to find the rheological properties of the material and the
segregation fluxes.
Design of Multicomponent Distillation Column for Coal Tar Bachelors Degree Project
(B.Tech thesis under the guidance of Prof. B. Dileep Kumar) Dec 06 - Apr 07
The project deals with the study of Coal Tar multicomponent system and the different types
of equipment used in the process for the manufacture of various products from Coal Tar.
Process design and mechanical design of multicomponent distillation column were also done.
Multi-functional Superhydrophobic Surface Coatings based on Liquid Nanocomposites

Detailed study was carried out on the properties that lead to natural superhydrophobicity and
studied the chemical combination and surface properties of different substances to create
superhydrophobic surfaces artificially.
Design of Petlyuk Columns Process Plant Simulation Course Project Jan 08 May 08
Energy efficiency of Petlyuk column is compared with a direct sequence of two distillation
columns in sequence for Benzene, Toluene and Xylene system using ASPEN PLUS.

Design of Air Distributor for Fluidized Bed Jul 08 to date
Different designs of air distributor are studied for the uniform distribution of air in a fluidized
bed, the simulations are done in FLUENT to find out the air distributor that gives uniform
supply of air.
