OBJECTIVE

The main purpose of this Hands on Training on


NS2 is to create awareness and enrich knowledge for
research scholars, faculty and students in the area of Network
simulation using NS2. This training is aimed at enhancing
the skill and knowledge in the fields of networks, especially
wireless ad hoc networks.


PROGRAMME CONTENTS

Overview of NS2 and NS2 Installation
Working with simple examples wired and
wireless scenario
Working with existing protocols
Simulation and interpretation of trace file
Trace file analysis using awk scripts
Plotting xgraph
Performance evaluation of routing protocol
C++ and Otcl integration method
New Agent creation
Creation of New Packet structure
Sending and receiving our own packets
Design and recompilation of new protocol

FACULTY
Sessions will be handled by experienced faculty
members of Kongu Engineering College.





BOARDING AND LODGING
Accommodation and boarding if required will be
provided in the college campus on chargeable basis.

Kongu Engineering College (KEC) was established in the
year 1984. Approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna
University, the institution has been accorded autonomous status

ABOUT TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS INCUBATOR

TBI@KEC, first of its kind in India has been established
in the KEC campus with the support and grant in-aid from the
NSTEDB/DST/GoI. The motto of the Incubator is Concept to
Commercialization. The TBI provides congenial atmosphere with
state- of the- art infrastructural facilities- hardware as well as
software-in the emerging Electronics and ICT related technology
areas so that the entrepreneur-aspirants including SMEs can convert
their innovative ideas into commercial products and services. The
TBI offers its services to the faculty and students also to get directly
involved with the entrepreneurs in product/process development.
TBI@KEC has won the National Award for Technology Business
Incubator by the DST for the year 2012. The Award was presented
by the President of India in May 2013.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Department of CSE was started in the year 1988 with
B.E. Programme. With the increasing demand in Computer Science
and Engineering, M.E programme was started in the year 1999.
The department is recognized to offer research programme leading
to Ph.D. The department aims at developing intellectually alert,
scientifically progressive, globally competent and dynamic young
IT professionals.

ABOUT THE LOCATION
The college is situated at Perundurai on the National
Highway (NH 47) about 80 km from Coimbatore and 17 km from
Erode. It is well connected by air, road and rail.
