Installation
Installing PaperPort for only a single user ma,es PaperPort print drivers visible to all
users
I# you install 'aper'ort #or only yoursel#, on a !ulti-user co!puter, other users cannot use
'aper'ort. =o*ever, 'aper'ort print "rivers *ill (e ena(le" #or other users (ut *ill not *or:
properly. In so!e con#igurations, i# another user prints *ith 'aper'ort 9lac: N +hite I!age
or 'aper'ort Color I!age, the print output *ill appear on your 'aper'ort "es:top.
)o resolve this issue, install 'aper'ort *ith the O#or all usersO optionHor, restrict access to
the 'aper'ort printers. )o restrict access, go to 'rinters in the +in"o*s 5tart !enu, an"
then, in the printer 'roperties "ialog (o,, set the access rights you *ant.
Sanners
Some sanner models are not listed in the San pane
5o!e scanner !o"els use proprietary so#t*are "rivers an" thus *ill not (e liste" in the 5can
pane.
+ith so!e scanners, you nee" only insert the paper you *ant to scan into the scanner, an"
the scanner *ill start auto!atically. Pou can then scan the ite! to the 'aper'ort "es:top. Aor
other scanners, scan your pages as you nor!ally "o an" copy or i!port the scanne" pages
to 'aper'ort.

'aper'ort 10 no* uses the sa!e (ehavior #or #ile an" page na!es *hen stac:ing an"
unstac:ing '>A or 0.7 #iles, rather than having a "i##erent (ehavior #or each #ile type. +hen
stac:ing "ocu!ents, page na!es *ill not (e replace" (y either the "ocu!ent na!e or
auto!atically generate" page nu!(ers. )he original page na!es *ill (e retaine" in the
ne*ly stac:e" "ocu!ent an" the #ile na!e *ill (e the sa!e as the "estination #ile, the other

)he highlight annotations *ill "isplay properly *hen you vie* the '>A #iles in .cro(at Rea"er
8 or higher.

)he '>A #ile #or!at supports a *i"e variety o# annotations. Pou can annotate '>A #iles *ith
'aper'ort annotations, such as lines, arro*s, stic:y notes, on so on. =o*ever, 'aper'ort
