What is a level 1 course and what is an advanced course?
A level 1 course is a course that has the number 1 as the second digit. For example: COIT11223 is a level 1 course and it is a foundation course in a program. An advanced course is any course that does not start with the number 1 as the second digit. For example: ACCT19082 and MMST13015
I have a problem with my enrolment and dont know what to do? Where should I go? If you need course advice or need to discuss your program, go to level 1 between 1-4pm and the Program Adviser will be available to answer all of your queries.
What is a Co-requisite? A co-requisite is a course that must be studied concurrently with another specified course unless a passing grade for the co-requisite course has already been obtained.
What is a pre-requisite? A pre-requisite is a course in which a passing grade is required before enrolment in a subsequent course is permitted
If I enrol online in a course that has a pre-requisite, what happens? If you have passed the pre-requisite your enrolment will go through without a problem. If you have not passed the pre-requisite the system will not enrol you in the course. You will then need to contact a Program Advisor by sending an email to [email protected] and they will liaise with the Associate Dean Academic to apply for permission to enrol in the course without having passed the pre-requisite. If the pre-requisite is approved, Program Advisors will adjust your enrolment. You do not need to try to enrol in the course again.

Enrolment FAQS Last updated: 21/01/2014 How Many Courses do I need to Enrol in? International Students must maintain a full time study load in the Term 1 and Term 2 study periods. A standard full time study load is 4 courses for under graduate students and 3 courses for postgraduate. In certain circumstances students may be able to enrol in study loads outside these requirements as detailed below. I want to over-enrol? How do I do it? Over-enrolling as an undergraduate is doing more than 4 courses in a term. Overenrolling as a postgrad means doing more than 3 courses in a term. All applications for over-enrolment are approved by the Associate Dean Academic, David Hamilton. David however will not consider any application until results are released. Ordinarily to have an over-enrolment approved, you must have a Credit average in your results, have no fail results, and be enrolling in your final term.
I want to under-enrol. Can I do it? Any International Student who enrols in less than 8 undergraduate or 6 postgraduate courses in term 1 & 2 are required to make up the balance in Term 3. Please note that Undergraduate International Students must enrol in at least 3 courses in Term 1 and Term 2 and Postgraduate International Students must enrol in at least 2 courses in Term 1 and Term 2.
International Students who do not maintain a full time enrolment are at risk of not completing their program within the duration of their COE and/or student visa. Where a full time study load has not been maintained, an extension COE may not be issued and a student may not be able to complete his/her program on campus.
