I. What is Boom?

Boom is primarily a volume booster
functioning at the system level and
working on the live audio stream of
the audio output device.














It can be used to boost the sound of the internal speakers, external speakers, external USB
speakers as well as headphones. It has secondary features like the sound presets and equalizer to
further enhance the audio output of the system.

II. Boom Quick Controls



The main Boom icon resides in the
status bar whenever Boom is
running. Boom provides quick
control to increase and decrease the
volume boost level from the status
menu and HotKey.

You can click on this icon to access options to adjust the volume boost level and open the main
Boom application window. Option-clicking the icon gives options to turn the Boom equalizer on
or off and select an equalizer preset from the default Boom presets and your custom made
presets.


HotKey Controls

Boom provides options to set key combinations as HotKeys to
instantly control the volume boost level. You can assign any hot key of
your choice from Boom preferences.




Note: If there are other sound enhancers installed and running with Boom then it would interfere
with the performance and proper functioning of Boom. Please turn them off and Quit them to
have the best experience of using Boom.


III. Boom Equalizer and Presets

Boom provides a 10 band graphic
equalizer to enhance the quality of
sound on your Mac.














The Boom equalizer effect is applied to the overall sound from the system irrespective of the
application playing that sound. The equalizer comes with a set of default presets for the most
commonly used effects and has options to create your own presets and save them for use
anytime.

Note: Boom Equalizer is applied to the overall system sound. So no matter what application the
sound is from, Boom will enhance it with the equalizer effects.

If Boom is uninstalled, all the custom created presets are also deleted. So watch out for that.

IV. Audio & Video Files Volume Boost




Boost the volume of audio
& video files on your Mac,
to have a louder playback
volume on all your
portable devices.














File volume boost feature of Boom allows you to import audio & video files into Boom and
boost their playback volume and save a new boosted file for further use on portable devices like
iPods, iPhones, iPads, other mp3 players, mobile phones and other desktop and laptop
computers.

This feature particularly helps in making a high volume file for those devices which have low
sounding speakers.

Note: Audio file volume boost process shall continue in the background even if the main
window is closed. So do not worry.

Where do I find converted files?

Boom saves all boosted files to your Music folder in a folder called Boom by default. You can
change the default location to a location of your choice in Preferences > General.



How do I Quit Boom?

Open the main Boom window from the controls in the status bar. Now Boom can be Quit using
the standard Command+Q shortcut or you can go to Options and select Quit.



How do I register Boom?

In the Purchase screen click on the Register button to register Boom after you have purchased
a license for Boom.

You can also bring up the Purchase screen from the main Boom app window by going to Options
and clicking on Register.



How do I report a bug?

To report a bug or for any other queries, go to the main Boom app window and go to About
Boom from the options. Click on mail to get in touch with Global Delight support.



What is Shriek?

Shriek is an app for Facebook that you are bound to shout at. It is a fun app to measure the users
shriek/shout/yell. The user can then compare the strength of his shriek with his friends and the
rest of the world present on Facebook. Oh! and the user can also post his shriek to his wall.

Why am I not able to sync some boosted videos to my iPad, iPhone or iPod touch?

Please check whether the boosted videos are compatible with the device you are trying to sync
with. Please refer to Apple's recommendations for further details on videos which would work on
these devices.

What are the audio & video file formats that Boom enhances?

Supported audio formats: mp3, m4a, aiff, caf, wav. Supported video formats: mov, mp4, m4v,
avi, 3gp, 3g2, mpg, dv.

What does indicate in iTunes browser?

indicates copyprotected files. These files cannot be boosted due to copyright protection. A
copyrighted/DRM protected file cannot be imported in boom for boosting.
