Crystal AM Transmitter

This document describes the circuit of a crystal AM transmitter that delivers 100-150 mW of radio frequency power. At the heart of the circuit is a 1MHz crystal that generates a stable carrier frequency. An audio signal from a condenser mic is amplified and used to modulate the RF carrier generated by the crystal oscillator circuit. The amplitude-modulated signal is obtained at the oscillator transistor's collector. With a matching dipole antenna and coaxial cable, the signal transmission range can be increased. For maximum range, use a sensitive radio with an external wire antenna. The circuit works off a 9V-12V battery.
