Australias international development assistance in
Indonesia aims to work in partnership with the
Government of Indonesia (GOI) to achieve a
prosperous, democratic and safe Indonesia through
the provision of post-graduate scholarships
Development Awards are administered !" AusAID and
aligned with Australias development assistance in
Indonesia, targeting human resource gaps in identified
priorit" sectors #he" aim to provide successful
applicants with the skills and knowledge to drive
change and influence economic and social
development
AusAID offers Development Awards on the !asis of
merit, transparenc" and e$ual access %e strongl"
encourage applications from women, people with
disa!ilit", and people from AusAIDs geographic focus
areas&'apua, %est 'apua, (#), (## and A*+,

Australian Development Scholarships
#hese are long term development
scholarships providing people with the
opportunit" to o!tain tertiar" $ualifications at
an Australian tertiar" institution
In the 3453&56 Australian Development
-cholarship application round, a range of
awards will !e offered for commencement in
345673458 with the following allocation.
-i9t" si9 per cent of awards will !e offered
to applicants from the pu!lic sector
categor"
#hirst" three per cent of awards will !e
offered to applicants from the open
categor"
:p to ;4 per cent of awards overall will !e
offered to applicants from the #argeted

for Development 'rogram designed to enhance
leadership knowledge and skills =ecipients will
!e !rought together with other Australian
2eadership Awardees for leadership training,
development discussions and the chance to !uild

professional and personal $ualities, academic
competence and, most importantl", their potential
impact on development challenges in their
countr" or region

have an +nglish language proficienc" of at
least ;4 in I+2#- (or ;44 in paper-!ased

mem!ers will all hold Doctoral degrees

with long-term e9perience in the Australian
universit" s"stem #he process aims to identif"
candidates most likel" to succeed in academic
studies in an Australian course who will then
make a su!stantial contri!ution in Indonesia
#he process will !e transparent and the
eligi!ilit" and selection criteria made are
availa!le to interested parties #he final list of
awardees is su!1ect to scrutin" and

'rior to departure to Australia, awardees are
re$uired to undertake a pre-departure
training course #he +nglish for Academic
'urposes (+A') course consists of up to
nine months full-time +nglish language and
academic preparation in Indonesia

Australian universit"
