Regions and Provinces in the Philippines

The Philippines is composed of 7,107 islands situated in the Southeast Asian part of
the globe. The Philippine islands are clustered into three (3) island groups called
u!on, "isa#as, and $indanao %hich are further subdi&ided into se&enteen (17)
regions. 'ourteen of these regions are designated %ith numbers corresponding to
their geographic location in order from north to south. The (ational )apital *egion,

not ha&e numerical designations.
