This week we will review the animals and
babies that we were studying in the previous
unit, and practice introducing ourselves
using the sentence structures that we
covered in the first week of school. We can
play games like spin the bottle to choose
students who have to stand up and speak in
front of the class, and they can talk about
themselves and their favorites such as their
favorite animal or their favorite colour. We
will also review things in the classroom using
realia and TPR, encouraging students to be
interactive with their environment.

This week students should learn about the differences between rural and urban
locations through indirect learning and thematic association# discussing the
differences between the two using stories and games. What different acti!ities
can we do in each place% What kinds of people li!e and work in them% We can
use acti!e games such as the class hunt to encourage tactile learners and some
basic reciprocal learning by asking students to discuss what they like or dislike
about the different locations. Speaking in sentences will continue to be
encouraged.

This week we will continue to practice
writing the key vocabulary words so that
students learn to read them by sight. They
do not need to sound them out
phonetically, but should recogni)e the
start and end sounds and the general
shape of the word. We will have a spelling

students will be asked to complete the
words with some of the letters missing.
