This document proposes developing an Online Notice Board System as a major project for a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree. The system would be web-based and accessible from any device to allow easy information dissemination at Taita Taveta University College. It aims to address problems with the current paper notice board system, such as difficulty checking notices and information loss. The hypothesis is that a client-server software system with a digital notice board could more quickly spread information across the university's network. The objectives are to evaluate the current system, develop the online notice board, and test it with real data. Research questions address whether TTUC has implemented such a system, will adopt this one, and how implementation might occur.

A(STRACT
This document is a proposal for the Online Notice Board System as a major project for my
partial fulfilment of the course of Bachelors in Information Technology.
The system will be a clientser!er model and also webbased to facilitate easy access to all
clients regard less of where they are and also of the machines they are using. I will also try
to intergrate the system from the computer des"top program into a mobile application app
such as #ndroid

and $indows mobile.

INTRO'UCTION
# noticeboard is a wooden or e!en metal boards where people can lea!e public messages%
e.g ad!ertise things to buy or sell% e!ents or e!en memos. &y aim in this project is to ease
and ma"e information dissemination much easier in a paperless institution such as Taita
Ta!eta 'ni!ersity (ollege. I intend to focus on Taita Ta!eta 'ni!ersity (ollege whereby the
software will majorly be used for #dministration purposes. It is intended to support the
e)isting method by which notices and memos are posted in the 'ni!ersity*s en!ironment.

&any 'ni!ersity and instituitions% particulalrly TT'( rely on the wooden noticeboard hanging
on a wall to display announcement% i.e at the library% outside each hostel% at the department
offices and also at the administration offices. &any students and staffs face the following

This project loo"s at the abo!e problems and try to come up with a solution. /e!elop a
software with a client and ser!er side so as to de!elop the digital notice board 1/NB2
program that will be installed in !arious computers that a re connected within the 3ocal #rea
Networ" of the uni!ersity compound so as to help spread the information displayed in the
notice board faster.
