Comparision Between PT and Conventional Slab

This document compares the costs of using a post-tensioned (PT) flat slab system versus a conventional reinforced concrete (RCC) flat slab system for a residential development project. For a typical floor, the PT system results in net savings of 29 Dhs/m2 due to reduced concrete and steel requirements compared to the RCC system. Assuming a typical floor area of 3000 m2, the net savings per floor is estimated to be 87,420 Dhs. For typical floors from first to roof level, the PT system results in net savings of 10.40 Dhs/m2 per floor and savings of 31,200 Dhs for a floor area of 3000 m2.
