Library unveils new downloadable magazine and classic audiobook services
(STILLWATER, OKLA. / June 19, 2014) Stillwater Public Library has just released Zinio, a free downloadable magazine service for library card holders. Zinio offers approximately 200 magazines and includes many of the most popular publications like Martha Stewart Living, Oprah, Popular Science, Newsweek and Rolling Stone.
Weve had online magazines for years now, but they were not downloadable as a whole publication and most did not have the images that people really enjoy seeing in a magazine, said Lynda Reynolds, library director. The Zinio service gives readers a full magazine experience with glossy pages and easy, flip-through use.
According to Reynolds, the magazines can be downloaded from the librarys website by clicking any of the Zinio links on the librarys website at http://library.stillwater.org. Readers will set up two accounts, one through the Oklahoma Digital Magazine Library and one through Zinio. They will then have unlimited access to magazines, which can easily be viewed on most Internet- enabled devices inside or outside of the library.
Readers may check out as many magazines as they like and the issues never have to be returned, said Reynolds. And unlike eBooks, multiple people can checkout the same magazine at the same time.
Along with the Zinio subscription, the library has added OneClickDigital, a service that provides downloadable classic audiobooks for use on mobile devices or computers. A separate account will need to be created to access these audios which are available by visiting the eLibrary link on the librarys webpage.
Users must have an active Stillwater Public Library card to access Zinio and OneClickDigital. Cards can be obtained for free by anyone who lives, works or attends school in Payne County.
