ancient "ransfor!ers scoured the universe loo1in$ for Gner$on sources. Kead #y the Seven
3ri!es, they used a device called the (Solar Larvester( to drain stars, such as the Sun, of their
ener$y in order to convert it to Gner$on and power 0y#ertronMs llSpar1 and their lifeN#lood.
"he 3ri!es a$reed that they would never drain any lifeN#earin$ worlds, #ut one #rother,
thereafter du##ed ("he +allen(, constructed a Solar Larvester on Garth in 1O,000 %0G. "he
re!ainin$ #rothers sacrificed their #odies in order to hide the &atriP of Keadership, the 1ey that
powers the Solar Larvester, fro! "he +allen, who swore his reven$e once the &atriP was his.
In the present day, -pti!us now leads NGS", a !ilitary or$ani4ation consistin$ of hu!an troops
and his own tea! of uto#ots N includin$ newco!ers Jolt, rcee, Sideswipe, and the twins S1ids
and &udflap. /hile on a !ission in Shan$hai, they encounter the 2ecepticons Sideways and
2e!olishor. &ost of the uto#ots and NGS" troops persue 2e!olisher while S1ids, &udflap,
rcee, Glita 1, and 0hro!ia $o after Sideways. /hile they fail to catch hi!, Sideswipe is
#rou$ht in and 1ills Sideways. &eanwhile, -pti!us is air lifted to Shan$hai ri$ht near the path
of a ra!pa$in$ 2e!olisher. %oth -pti!us and Ironhide cause the lar$e 2ecepticon to crash,

%ac1 in the Qnited States, Sa! /itwic1y and his parents are pac1in$ for his trip to colle$e. Sa!
recieves a phone call fro! his $irlfriend, &i1aela %anes and as they tal1, Sa! finds a shard of
the llspar1 in his 2N2ay Rac1et. Le loo1s into it and receives several alien sy!#ols flashin$ in
his !ind. Sa! drops the shard and it #urns thro$uh the floor into the 1icthen, #rin$in$ all the
appliances to life. "he drones wrea1 havoc in the house and in the #ac1 yard. Sa! calls
%u!#le#ee who co!es out fro! the $ara$e and destroyes all the drones. fter sayin$ $ood#ye to
%u!#le#ee, who cries, Sa! $ives the llspar1 shard to &i1eala, who arrives at the house. She
does not reali4e that she is #ein$ spied on #y the little 2ecepticon /heelie, who detects the shard
in her posession.
t NGS" headquaters, the tea! is de#reifin$ when "heodore Salloway, the National Security
dviser, arrives, sent to relay the 3residentIs concerns over the a!ount of casualties in Shan$hai.
Salloway reasons that the only lo$ical o#Rective that the 2ecepticons have on Garth is to hunt the
uto#ots. Le perceives the (+allen risin$ a$ain( !essa$e as no real threat and su$$ests that the
uto#ots leave Garth. -pti!us a$rees if that is what the 3resident wishes, #ut also warns that
Salloway !i$ht #e wron$. /hile they tal1, Soundwave hac1s into a !ilitary satellite and
eavesdrops on their conversation. Learin$ Salloway revealin$ the location of a dead &e$atron in
the Kaurentian #yss. Le also learns where a piece of the llspar1 is #ein$ held #y NGS"
soldiers.
Qpon the /itwic1yIs arrival at Sa!Is new colle$e, Sa! !eets his new roo!ate Keo Spit4, who
runs a conspiracy we#sites that focuses on the "ransfor!ers ePistance and the $overn!entIs
hidin$ of the!. Sa!Is parents co!e in a $reet hi! while Sa!Is !other #eco!es dru$$ed after
unwittin$ly eatin$ !ariRuanaNlaced #rownies. In the corridor, Keo points out lice, another
student he has the hots for. %ut Sa! is !ore concerned a#out $ettin$ his !other under control.
Soundwave launched *ava$e down to the 2ie$o Sarcia NGS" #ase. *ava$e realeases a swar!
of &icrocons down a ventilation into the roo! where the llspar1 shard is #ein$ held. "he
&icrocons for! *eed!an, who steals the shard and escapes with *ava$e.
%ac1 at Sa!Is colle$e, Sa! is dra$$ed into a party on ca!pus where he once a$ain sees ra!do!
alien sy!#ols flashin$ in his !ind and writes the! down on a ta#el with ca1e icin$. lice sees
hi! doin$ it and tries to seduce hi! when %u!#le#ee arrives. lice ta1es a ride with Sa! in
%u!#le#ee, who tries to $et her to leave. She finally does #ac1 off when %u!#le#ee sprays
lu#ricant on her. %u!#le#ee ta1es Sa! to -pti!us who as1es hi! to apeal to the Q.S.
$overn!ent for the uto#ots #ut Sa! refuses. Sa! then leave on a note that it isnIt his war, #ut
-pti!us fears that it soon will #e.
In the Kaurentian #yss, Scalpel, *ava$e, and the 0onstructicons use the llspar1 shard and
so!e spare parts fro! Scrap!etal to revive &e$atron. &e$atron flies to one of SaturnIs !oons
where the Ne!esis is located. "here, he reunites with Starscrea! and his !aster, "he +allen. "he
+allen instructs &e$atron and Starscrea! to capture Sa! in order to discover the location of the
&atriP of Keadership as well as to destroy -pti!us, the only possi#le hindrance to his plans.

they tal1, /heelie tries to steal the shard fro! the safe that &i1eala has it loc1ed in #ut she
catches hi!. &i1eala then #oards a plane to $o see Sa! and #rin$s /heelie with her. &i1aela
arrives in town Rust as lice, who is revealed as a 3retender, attac1s Sa!. &i1aela, Sa!, and his
roo!!ate Keo destroy lice, #ut are captured #y Srindor. "he 2ecepticon Scalpel '1nown as
("he 2octor(, prepares to re!ove Sa!Is #rain, #ut -pti!us crashes throu$h the ceilin$ while
%u!#le#ee #ursts throu$h the wall. short fire fi$ht ensues as %u!#le#ee fends off Starscrea!,
allowin$ the hu!ans to escape, while -pti!us lands, pullin$ out his second $un, preparin$ to
ta1e on &e$atron. -pti!us ta1es on #oth Starscrea! and &e$atron in a #arra$e of shots and as
Starscrea! is sent reelin$ fro! a few close shots, -pti!us fires a sin$le round, which sends
&e$atron throu$h a wall. -pti!us collects Sa! while &e$atron flees and they head towards a
forest as %u!#le#ee evacuates the rest of the hu!ans. &e$atron quic1ly catches up, en$a$in$
-pti!us in closeNquarters co!#at. Srindor and Starscrea! arrive, and a #rutal fi$ht ensues.
-pti!us proves his incredi#le #attle powers #y fi$htin$ &e$atron hi!self to a standstill,
defeatin$ Starscrea! and eventaully 1illin$ Srindor #y rippin$ his head apart. Qnfortunately,
while distracted with Sa!Is well#ein$, -pti!us is 1illed #y &e$atron, who viciously sta#s hi!
while his #ac1 is turned.

#efore, as their lan$ua$e is written on ruins all over the world. /heelie identifies the lan$ua$e as
that of the 3ri!es, and directs the $roup to a for!er 2ecepticon na!ed Jetfire, who can translate
the lan$ua$e. "hey find and reactivate Jetfire at the S!ithsonian. fter Jetfire $oes on a ra!pa$e
throu$h the aircraft !useu!, Sa! tells hi! a#out the sy!#ols he 1eeps seein$ in his head. Jetfire
understands the! and teleports the $roup to G$ypt where Sa!Is hand is inRured durin$ the
eRection. Jetfire ePplains the history of "he +allen and that the to!# of the 3ri!es is located in
the surroundin$ desert, and only a 3ri!e can 1ill "he +allen. Jetfire provides the! with a vital

their location. "he !ilitary arrives with the uto#ots, #ut so do the 2ecepticons, and a #attle
arises. 2urin$ the fi$ht, the !i$hty 2ecepticon 2evastator is for!ed and unearths the Solar
Larvester, concealed within one of G$yptIs pyra!ids, #efore #ein$ destroyed #y the QS
!ilitaryIs prototype rail $un, $uided #y Si!!ons. Jetfire arrives in ti!e to save the $roup fro!
&iP!aster #y slicin$ hi! in half and s!ashin$ his head off, #ut is !ortally wounded #y a
surprise attac1 fro! Scorpono1 who! he 1ills. "he ir +orce carpetN#o!#s the 2ecepticons, #ut
&e$atron #rea1s throu$h the offensive and attac1s Sa!, and 1ills hi!. In a vision, Sa! !eets
with the other 3ri!es, who have #een watchin$ hi! for a lon$, lon$ ti!e. "he 3ri!es tell hi!
that the &atriP of Keadership cannot #e not found, #ut !ust #e earned. Le awa1ens and the dust
reasse!#les to for! the &atriP, which Sa! uses to revive -pti!us, #y !er$in$ the &atriP with
his spar1.
Lowever, "he +allen Ru!ps into the fray and steals the &atriP shortly thereafter, renderin$
-pti!us una#le to fi$ht once a$ain. "he +allen activates the Solar Larvester. In a final effort,
Jetfire sacrifices his parts and spar1 to -pti!us, $ivin$ -pti!us the power he needs to defeat
"he +allen. /ith his new, enhanced capa#ilities, -pti!us destroys the Solar Larvester #y
shootin$ it down and ta1es on #oth &e$atron and "he +allen. fter severely da!a$in$
&e$atron, -pti!us faces off a$ainst "he +allen and 1ills hi! #y tearin$ away part of his
faceplate then forcin$ his fist throu$h his torso and crushin$ "he +allenIs spar1 with his #are
hands. &e$atron and Starscrea! retreat and &e$atron vows that their fi$ht is not finished.
-pti!us 3ri!e concludes the event #y proclai!in$ that the "ransfor!ers and hu!ans now share
an untold history and will co!#ine despite their differences.
