Infrastructure issues pose challenges for electronic payment systems in developing countries. Reliable and accessible communication infrastructure like internet and mobile networks are needed to connect banks and facilitate payments, but many rural areas lack these resources. Developing robust telecommunication infrastructure requires overcoming issues such as unreliable networks, lack of network coverage, and insufficient electricity. Establishing a strong legal and regulatory framework that addresses issues like data protection, fraud prevention, and the validity of electronic contracts is also important for building trust in electronic payment systems.
