2D Seismic QC

This document summarizes the key features and functions of 2D Seismic QC software. The software provides tools for importing 2D seismic navigation data from various standard formats, performing statistical quality control tests to detect errors, editing data, and exporting data to other formats or coordinate reference systems. It allows users to check data integrity, identify potential errors or outliers, manually edit the data as needed, and generate reports on the quality control analysis.

2D Seismic QC is an integrated Geo Mapper

module providing:
Library of recognised navigation data
exchange formats
Comprehensive range of tests to check the
integrity of 2D seismic navigation data
Data editing functions
Export function capable of exporting data to
any CRS or exchange format
2D Seismic QC
Data importing Geo Suite offers a
comprehensive inventory of 2D seismic
navigation data exchange formats, which
include:
UKOOA P1/78, P1/84, P1/90,
SEG P1/P2,
SPS (r and s),
User-dened text wizard
CRS denition - all geodetic parameters are
derived from EPSG database via the Geo DB
module.
All data is internally stored in the referenced
system in which it was imported. However,
project data can be viewed in a user selected
CRS. On-the-y coordinate transformations are
provided to facilitate this process.
A late binding coordinate transformation
architecture is adopted. This allows greater
exibility when assigning a transformation
model to the project data.
Statistical Testing - A series of statistical QC
tests are run to determine potential errors in
the data. The tests include:
Duplicate line names, positions and events
Outliers / blunders (spikes)
Missing events (source / receivers /
CDP related)
Event, azimuth, distance, timing and
increment errors
User dened tolerance values can be set for
the tests.
Tabular and graphical views of the QC reports
are provided. The tables cover line summaries,
line statistics and point summaries. There are
additional tables to view le headers and the
data audit trail.
Recognition of all main seismic navigation
data exchange le formats as part of data
import function.
Elegant text le import wizard to dene non-
standard exchange les.
Extensive range of statistical QA/QC tests
aimed at detecting errors within the navigation
data. Including graphical displays.
Parallel mapping views made available of all
data loaded into project layers.
Manual data editing to change all aspects of
the navigation data.
Full reporting functions enable text and html
reports of QC analysis to be performed.
Data export function enables data to be
exported to any CRS and exchange format
required.

Data Editing The set of data editing functions
enable most errors (reported within the tests) to
be xed. These include:
Renaming lines and event numbers
Deleting lines and events
Editing positions / spike removal
Interpolation through gaps
Extrapolation at start and end of lines
Copy and paste functions
Data Exporting - The software provides:
An inventory of data format encoders to
match the data import decoders. This allows
the data to
be exported to any required exchange format.
Choice of CRS to which the data is referenced.
Selection of data sub-sets to export and
data decimation.
Exporting to GIS le formats such as .shp,
.kml, kmz.
