Eor )shathriyas 5&imha aaya with $orth entrance
Eor #aisyas 5 #rusha%ha aaya with 4astern entrance are good and
favoura%le.
he .hwaja aaya is also good I considered for )shathriyas I #aisyas.
&imha aaya %rings inade3uate progeny. &imha, #risha%ha I Gaja ayas
are always prefera%le and the other aayas lead to %ad results.
.ifferent castes indicate their professions. People should follow the
aaya of their profession.
he Result of !msa : here are only three J!msasK in the !aya
pra'asanaM 0+2 lndramsa, 0;2 *amamsa and 072 Rajasamsa. he lndramsa
will present the status and happiness. he yamamsa will lead to death,
sorrow, many diseases. he Rajasamsa will improve the wealth gains
and progeny.
#ara 0wee'days2 among the : days the wee' &un I "ars of a house
will result in threat from fire and the other days will %e favoura%le.
ithi 0,unar .ay2
&lo'a :
!mong the tuthis the ri'ta tithi will cause poverty, new moon day

*oga : !s against ;: yogas the %ad yogas will affect the owner %y loss
of wealth and gains. he vratipat yoga creates fear of death. he
vaidhruti yoga causes all sorts of losses.
!yuvu 0,ife &pan2 : @hen the life span of house %ased on the
arithmetical calculations is more than ?D, it gives auspicious results, if
it is less than ?D years then it is inauspicious.
Regarding the .hana I Rina, the total no. of .hana should %e more
than that of the num%er of Rina as per the prescri%ed mathematical
calculations and the pada should %e ta'en in all the constructions.
.i'patis 0,ords of directions2 :
!s per the calculations the remainder gives the results as follows:
+. lndra 5 Good for women
;. !gni 5 hreat from fire
7. *ama 5 Inauspicious
A. $irti 5 Eear from enemies
9. #aruna 5 Increase cattle field
?. #ayu 5 <nsteadiness
:. )u%era 5 Increase of gains
(. &iva 5 !uspicious
$ow let us 'now the method of calculations of !ayadi nava vargas :
Eirst of all the J)shetripadaK is re3uired i.e., JPadam.K It means the
area 0selected area for constructions2 is got %y multiplying the length
I width of the same. he 'shetripada is also called as graha pinda. 6y
multiplying and dividing the 'shetripada i.e., area with the given
num%ers we get the nine vargas i.e., !aya, #ara, !msa, .hana, Rina,
$a'shathaK idhi, *urti, !yuvu etc.,
he classical texts of vastu sashtra, i.e., #iswa'arma Pra'asi'a,
)alamruta state the methods in different ways.

In the &arnrangana &utradhara, the writer )ing 6hoja states.

area2 is divided %y ( the remainder, +. .waja, ;. .huma, 7.
&imha, A. &vana, 9. #rasha%ha, ?. )hara, :. Gaja, (. )a'a the
remainder D C (.
;. he $a'shatra : 6y multiplying the )shetra pada %y ( and
dividing %y ;:, we get $a'shatra. If the remainder num%er is (,
it stands for vyaya. ie., expenditure. It this num%er of
expenditure is less than the no. of income, it is 'nown as ya'sa,
if more than that it is 'nown as ra'shasa. If it is e3ual it is
called as pisacha. !mong these ya'sha is considered for %est,
ra'shasa is negative and pisacha will give normal result.
7. !msa &adhana : !dd the num%er of vyaya and gruha nama
na'shtra and divide this total %y 7, the remainder + is
indramasa, ; is yamamsa and the 7 is rajasamsa. Indra I
rajasamsa will give %est results whereas the yamasa is
inauspicious.
A. Rasi sadhana : "ultiply the gruha na'shatra with A and divide %y
+; the result is the rasi. @hen the rasi is ?, 9,;, (, +; against
the nativeSs rasi it is inauspicious.
9. he ara%ala : =ounting from the Ganma $a'shtra of a person
to the na'shatra of the house and dividing %y nine, the
remainder A,?,8 are auspicious, +,;, ( are normal and the
num%ers 7, 9, : are evil.
?. !yuvu 0,ongevity2 : "ultiplying the 'shetra pada %y ( and
dividing %y +;D, we get ayuvu of the house. D counts as ( which
is not good.
he other classical texts li'e !parajita Prucha, #astu #idya,
"anushyalaya =handri'a, "anusutra etc., give some variations. &o it is
necessary to o%serve the !aya and the navavargas %efore any
constructions to achieve good results for prosperity, wealth, growth
etc.
