Course name Project Management
1. Course objective The main aim of this course is to establish a clear understanding of the theoretical and practical part of IT project management. The course will cover the theoretical background combined with practical examples concerning project management components based mainly on PMI standards. Additionally, it includes a review of project management tools such as MS Project.
2. Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
Assess the factors contributing to success and failure of IT projects Critically evaluate a range of project management concepts and methodologies Get practical skills on scheduling and planning with regard to IT projects Understand the importance of managing teams effectively Identify risks involved in IT projects and use risk management tools and methods to mitigate the risks Plan and manage change in IT Projects more effectively Apply PMI project management standards

This course teaches how to manage projects in a manner that increases the probability of project success. Use of quality assurance methods in the design and development of a system. Relationship between the functions of quality assurance, system development and management.
