Some of us did not treat them well,

people they were Para announced
on August 31, 4:37 PM PDT that the
map developing team was back
with two new additions! Itaity and
AwarriorVenom were warmly wel-
comed into the map developing
team. Hopefully, now with so many
map developers, map processing
would be sped up and their stress
levels will plummet. Horrible news
was changed into incredible news
only in a matter of days.
Look forward to speedier updates,
more feedback, and an overall, bet-
ter map team. Dont forget to convey
your gratitude to the map developers
periodically, and congratulate the
newly promoted! :D We must not

iately discovered he was hacked by his
OWN friend! D:
We were all fooled, into believing he
actually retired for the second time. Finally,
things were cleared up, Peachy was given
his rank back and the leaving thread was
archived. How did the hacker fool us? Well,
because his friend, Peachy says, knows
me as well as my parents.
This wasnt the first time he was
hacked. When Peachy was first pro-
moted, he was hacked by the same
friend... into banning random people.
Good think thats all fixed. Now,
peachums is back on the job dont
break the rules OR HELL BANZ

On August 30,2013, 8:05PM PDT,
PeachyYas retired. He claimed that he
didnt have enough time and that he had to
give up his staff rank for school. A thread
was even made, to say goodbye to
peachy. However, a day later, the real
peachy came. He panicked when he no-
ticed his staff rank was gone and immedi-

Staff Losses
The staff team has been quite shaky
lately. At first, moderators Zieno and
Doozie were demoted. Peachy fol-
lowed, retiring falsely, only later did
we find out he was hacked and his
rank later restored. Quite awhile after
that, D00ZiE was repromoted. :D
Sadly, not long after that, Theo re-
tired, a moderator who served us well
and retired several times previously,
but was convinced to come back. :c
Now, just two days ago, Howsie tem-
porarily retired, due to intensive
school. :c
On the bright side, there always is
something to fill in the bad, such as
the re-promotion of our map develop-
ers and the of more. Hopefully,
Howsie will return soon, to lead avicus
to glory. ;p As for now, the staff team
is down to 25 members.
For those of you that are wonder-
ing since Howsie is gone will ap-
plications be delayed? The answer
is no. AviGill will sacrifice his time to
take on his fellow Directors responsi-
bilities, meaning he will make sure the
applications will open on time, and
replenish our diminished staff popula-
tion. :D

Recently, Avicadi-

ing quite a lot of lag. It
became hard to pvp or
move. However, that
wasnt enough for the
Lag god, he had to
create host prob-
lems and crash Avi-
cus and its website for
quite awhile. Rumor
has it that the down-
time was because a

Luckily, that error
was resolved quite
speedily. However,
there still is mild
server lag, although
not as bad and we
have Ivy to thank for
doing a good job on
that. :D

The Jinxed Update.
Minecraft 1.8 was just recently released, which was an up-
date many had looked forward to The key features were:
name changes, resource pack updates, new water temple/mobs,
armor stands, more commands, block-hit visual removal, re-
duced clicking speed, new options, SPECTATOR GAMEMODE,
game rules, scoreboards, blocks, items, world types, rabbits and
mutton, and much much more. The full list is here. 1.8 is called
the bountiful update, but in reality it actually is the Jinxed Up-
date.
Quite a lot of misfortune seemed to have followed 1.8. Awhile
before it was released, Mojang enforced and edited their EULA,
prohibiting servers from selling parts of Minecraft, such as kits.
This EULA caused a lot of trouble, including community upris-
ings. Some Minecraftians became so enraged, they teamed to-
gether and DDOSd the Minecraft servers for quite a while. This
was when Minecraft started edging towards the road to death.
Just recently, Bukkit was forced to shut down, due to EULA,
yet Mojang prohibited them, claiming they had bought Bukkit 2
years ago, which they did but they never bothered to help Buk-
kit with their troubles. 25 of the Bukkit developers quit, pretty
much the entire developing team. Mojang claims Bukkit 1.8 will
be released but will it? There are only 2 DEVs, Grum and Din-
nerbone... who are already engaged in Mojang affairs
Along with all the misfortune, Avicus seemed to have a huge
drop in players, due to school. Avicus also began experiencing
extreme server lag, and time-outs. These many reasons, com-
bined with yet even more, make Minecraft 1.8 the jinxed update
and not to men-
tion I can no
longer play Mine-
craft on my main
computer after

The Avicus population dwindles,
as it faces its worst enemy, school.
Due to school, Avicus now only has
70-150 average players online on
the weekdays. Some people even
consider Avicus as dying. As if that
werent bad enough...lots of staff
have retired, due to school.
Im not saying school is bad, obvi-
ously. School is necessary. But
really, its caused us quite some
grief. Along with the everyday
NONNONONONO THERES
SCHOOL! D:, and the typical, cant
I just sleep one more minute?
theres the pain of looking at a dying
server or rather, it seems so.
Several threads have been cre-
ated about this, and discussions
soar high. Hopefully, Avicus will
make it through, so what WAS the
max in summer, becomes the mini-
mum in the school year. I hope you
all do well in this school year... both
in school and in Avicus. LONG

Hey there, trident here... today I would like to talk about Avicus dying. Avicus may
seem like its dying, but its not its mainly just school. However, if the current problems
arent fixed it may die. The main problems are: slow updates and server issues. Both of
these issues can be fixed with just one thing. New Developers.
Some of you may be wondering WHY ISNT IVY HIRING ANY MORE DEVS? Picking Developers isnt an easy task,
they have to be both a)skilled and b)trustworthy. A developer has the power to ruin the entire server. Now that really isnt
what we want right? For now all we can do is wait and be patient, until Ivy gets more developers. Hopefully we will
have about 2-4 skilled developers eventually, and Avicus will start growing once again.
Now, another issue is school obviously, but its just life. Weve gotten used to the insane amount of people during the sum-
mer we just have to get used to it, sadly. In the best case scenario, some popular youtuber stumbles onto Avicus and makes a
giant series about it that will get us a ton of players and if we have enough developers and staff to handle that that
would be just awesome.
Another problem I hear about lately is the hacker problem. I really think NCP should be tweaked, to be more lenient in
CTH and to block all autoregen that hack is just too op. Now flying, too is an obvious hack yet if NCP was turned
high on this one there would be a lot of NCP teleporting and whatnot. If only some of these old suggested staff tools were
