p.s. before you proceed uninstall all Petrel (other than 2010.2.2 32-bit) and Sl bLicensing installations p.p.s. follow steps below and DO NOT install or run SlbLicensing after 1) install petrel 2010.2.2 (32-bit) 2) change mac address of network card to 0022B06074E6 (go to device manager, open network card properties, go to advanced tab, find Ethernet address or Localy Administered Address and change it, make sure that no other computer on your network has the same mac address or you will have network troubles, if you want to use this patch to work on several computers you should install license service only on one of them i.e. license server, others will be clients with petrel 2010.2.2 installed) 3) reboot 4) set system evironment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE to "27009@<license_server_name >;" on each client 5) on server you can set LM_LICENSE_FILE to "27009@localhost;" 6) copy "flexlm" folder to "schlumberger" folder on license server 7) change ComputerName to you computer network name in license file (lic_p2010.l ic), DO NOT modify mac address 8) start lmtools.exe, check Configuration using Services 9) go to Config Services tab and set the following: Service Name = type "Schlumberger License Server" Path to lmgrd.exe file = click Browse and select lmgrd.exe Path to license file = click Browse and select lic_p2010.lic Path to debug log file = click Browse and type "dbg.log" in dialog box, click Open check Start Server at Power Up and Use Services click Save Service 11) go to Start/Stop/Reread tab and click Start Server 12) launch Process Manage and check process list, there must be two lmgrd proces ses and one slbsls process 13) also check dbg.log, it must contain the following: 18:13:20 (lmgrd) License file(s): C:\Schlumberger\flexlm\lic_p2010.lic 18:13:20 (lmgrd) lmgrd tcp-port 27009 18:13:20 (lmgrd) Starting vendor daemons ... 18:13:22 (lmgrd) Started slbsls (pid 2316) 18:13:28 (slbsls) FLEXnet Licensing version v11.3.0 build 28877 18:13:28 (slbsls) Server started on GS-STATION for: Petrel_02060746_ MAAAGq2m//abA 18:13:28 (lmgrd) slbsls using TCP-port 49162 18:13:28 (slbsls) Serving features for the following vendor names: slbsls slbfd lmgrd_slb 14) copy (and overwrite) contents of "x86" folder to petrel intallation folder o n each client 15) start Petrel and select license package (Server string must be equal to LM_L ICENSE_FILE variable) and click OK 16) Petrel should start normally if you get "Server does not support this feature" then wrong license file is use d or service other than from this package used if you get "Bad encryption code" then Petrel executable and some DLL files are n ot patched (overwrite from "x86" folder)
