Welcome: We warmly welcome Fr Michael Smith sj to St Josephs as our supply
priest this weekend while Fr John is on holidays.

Holy Hour: St Annes Purnim this Thursday: 11.00am to 12noon

Emmanuel College: You will have seen the Emmanuel College crest many times
before but what does it mean? Before masses this weekend an animated video clip
prepared for Open Day this year will explain the meaning behind the crest and logo.
All students are wished a safe & happy holiday break & look forward to their return in
2 weeks when the Year 12 students will have just 10 days of classes before their
secondary school journey concludes & their final exams commence. (Peter Morgan)

Hospitality: A cuppa will follow all Masses next weekend hosted by our Family
Groups. Everyone is welcome to stay for a cuppa and chat.

Ballarat Clergy Support Fund

Last year our parish contributed $6,808.00 to this collection which raised nearly
$71,000 throughout the Diocese. The Ballarat Clergy Support Fund relies on your
generosity to enable it to continue supporting our sick and retired priests. 18 retired
priests are currently supported by this Fund.
Special envelopes are available for this collection. They can be found with your Plan
Giving envelopes or in your seat. Please place on the collection plate or you may
return your envelope next weekend.
A credit card facility is available for your convenience and contributions over $2 are
tax deductible.
Caring for those who cared for us - the Church Communitys responsibility

Looking Forward: Over 100 people from around our region gathered on Tuesday
evening where the Looking Forward document aided discussion on the future
direction in regard to our faith communities. The meeting was led by Fr Justin
Driscoll & Amanda Smith. The document can be downloaded

The Joy of the Gospel: A book in which Pope Francis draws on his life experience
and passion for evangelization. Fr Justin Driscoll based much of his presentation at
the Looking Forward gathering on this book. If you would like a copy please place
name on list in Gathering Space. Cost $9.95


Social Justice Sunday: Next weekend (28th September). This years Social Justice
Statement is titled: A Crown for Australia: Striving for the best in our Sporting
Nation. The Statement challenges us to look at the place of sport in our lives.

Pope Francis: Ecology & Sustainability Focus: Let us be protectors of creation,
protectors of Gods plan inscribed in nature, protectors of one another and of the
environment. Let us not allow omens of destruction & death to accompany the
advance of this world!

Diocesan News: Keep up to date with happenings of the Diocese by logging on to

our parishioners following the celebration of Migrant & Refugee Sunday.
