September has come and gonerather quickly I
might add. We made it through the first weeks of
school. Hopefully everyone has had an amazing
beginning of the year. The library has been
buzzinglots & lots of tshirts, Dr. Seuss books, fun
activities, technology troubleshooting, and Mrs. Kirkland trying to figure out what in the world I am
doing. Hopefully we have everyones technology running smoothly and it stays that way. If you have
problems, please let me know. I will certainly try my best to get you fixed up as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience as I find my way around the library and what I want it to be. It will be a
great year!!!

Bring it to life for
your students!!
1
Animoto is an ideal tool for creating
videos and presentations in the
classroom. It takes just a few minutes to
create a video to bring your lessons to
life.
HOW TO USE:
http://animoto.com/education/classroom
1. Apply for an educators account
with Animoto. This is generally a
very quick process, but could take
up to a few days, so plan
accordingly. An educator account
will upgrade you to Animoto Plus
features and unlimited videos.
(My account was approved
immediately.)
2. Log in and begin creating your
2
first Animoto video.
THINGS TO KNOW:
~You can create up to 50 student
accounts with your teacher account.
Animoto will send you directions of
how to do this in your first email.
Students would love this.
~There is an Ipad/Iphone app for
Animoto that makes it super easy for
kids.
Here is a link to one of my Animoto
videos to see an example.

TEEN ADVISORY BOARD
In celebration of Teen Read Week and an effort to make our library more inviting for our teenagers, I
would like to create a Teen Advisory Board. I am looking for a 3-4 students from each grade level that
are willing to meet for lunch a 1-2 times a month to discuss ways to improve the library for older
students. I would like nominations from teachers of students that might be great for this board. I
want readers and non-readers. I want students that are involved in school activities, as well as
students who may not be as involved. I want a Teen Advisory Board that represents a cross-section of
our student population. Please submit your nominations to me by October 9. I will then invite the
students to participate. Thanks for you help. I appreciate any teacher input as well.
