Let the Leader Know! Dont leave it until the last minute to tell the leader you want to go on a walk. Walks have been cancelled because the leader thought no one was interested. In some cases, complicated transport arrangements have to be organised. Day Walks Confirm your interest by the previous Wednesday if possible. Late starters may still be accepted. Overnight Walks Advise the leader of your intention as early as possible and confirm details before the walk. When selecting a walk do not over- estimate your experience of fitness. Walks shown as L or XL, and in terrain types 4 or 5 are for fit and experienced walkers only. Leaders have the right to refuse any person/s they believe are not suitable for the walk. Do not be offended if the leader suggests you start with an easier walk. It is most important that you keep in contact with a party while walking. Do not surge ahead, go off on your own or assume the leader wants to go the way you are heading. Quite often the leader is at the rear of the party assisting slower walkers. If you become separated from the party and you are not sure of the route, go back to the last point you were in touch and stay there until found. Note that the miscellaneous cost shown is only a guide. The actual cost will depend on the distance travelled and the current cost of fuel. All walks depart from the parking bay opposite Cousins Motor Inn, Glen Innes Rd, Inverell unless otherwise stated.
