XTronika Calibration Manual

1. This document provides instructions for calibrating pressure transmitters in XTronica's Tank Sounding System XTTS50 by adjusting the sensor offset from the setup pages when the tank is empty. 2. For tanks with two sensors, the operator must calibrate each sensor separately by selecting the sensor and clicking the calibrate button for that sensor on the setup page. 3. For tanks with a single sensor, the operator only needs to click the calibrate button for that sensor on the setup page.

1. INTRODUCTION
This document describes the procedure of calibrating level transmitters in a XTronica Tank
Sounding System XTTS50.

1.1 Calibration of pressure transmitters
The operator can adjust the transmitters zero-point from the SETUP pages.
If the absolute pressure transmitters need to be adjusted so that there is no difference between
the transmitter and the atmospheric pressure.

Sensor offset calibration must only be executed when the operator knows that
the tank is empty/has dry sensor and has no over-pressure!

By using the Calibrate button the sensor is
calibrated.

Using "Clear" clears the value to zero.

By point-click on the value field the offset
can be entered manually.

By point and click on the data field with the
trackball a popup window with numeric
buttons is displayed.

1.2 CASE 1: Tank with 2 pcs sensors
1. Select the actual sensor (MP1) from the tank group page
(in this example the FO page).

2. Go to the SETUP page for this tank group.
(in this example the FO page).

3. Click on the tank sensor Calibrate button.

4. Go to the tank group page (FO group) and select the other sensor (MP2).
Return to the SETUP page again and do the same for MP2.

5. Choose another tank

1.3 CASE 2: Tank with 1 pc sensor
1. Go to the SETUP page for this tank group.

2. (in this example the FO page).

3. Click on the tank sensor Calibrate button.

4. Choose another tank

1.4 Remark of HEIGHT parameter
If the programmed volume table for the tank are starting from sensor height placement in the
tank (Sensor level =0), then the HEIGHT parameter must not be used.
The level is displayed from the sensor tip an upwards with correct volume calculations.
If the HEIGHT parameter is other than zero then the total level for the tank is correct but all
volume calculations is too high.

e.g. the displayed level is missing the distance from tank bottom and up to the sensor location
but the calculated volume is correct.
