home, LaTrell came across an interesting sight! A large brown praying mantis sitting on a post in the breezeway as if he was waiting on his son or daughter. Mr. Mantis, who the kids gathering around him called Jake, was calm as a cucumber, watching us with his large eyes as we tried to resist the urge to touch him. Jaleia, one of the students that spent a lot of time with Jake, said about the experience I have only seen one in the movie Kung Fu Panda. It is really cool to see one in action, doing its everyday routine. All of the students thought that he mantis was cool, although weird. Mr. Ted took a liking to Jake as well. Interested to see what it would do, Mr. Ted dangled his keys in front of the insect. We all gasped when the mantis climbed aboard. I believe he might have ridden home with Mr. Ted if given the chance. Oh, the things that happen at Renzi!
