DAY ONE
(WRITING) World of Knowledge
Its Concert Day! 3.2 By the end of the 6- year primary schooling, pupils will be able to write using appropriate language, form and style for a range of purposes 3.2.1 Able to complete: a) Linear texts
3.2.2 Able to write with guidance: a) Simple Sentence b) Compound Sentence (a) (a) w o r d s (a) w o r d s (b) p h r a s e s Set induction (5 minutes) 1. Teacher will play the sound clips which contain sounds of musical instruments. 2. Students listen to the sound clip. 3. Teacher asks the students about which instrument did produce each of the sounds. 4. Students give a few examples of their favorite musical instruments. 5. Students answer the question given.
Presentation (15 minutes) 1. Teacher presents video clips of some musical instruments which are drum, guitar, piano, flute and cello being played. 2. The pupils watch and listen to the video clips. 3. Teacher asks them to write down the names of the instruments and the players of the musical instruments. 4. Teacher asks the pupils to show the actions of how the musical instruments being played.

Practice (15 minutes) 1. Worksheet 1 a. Teacher gives worksheet one to the students. b. Teacher asks the students to fill in the blanks with correct answer.
2. Worksheet 2 a. The teacher asks the students to sit in group. b. The teacher provides the students with speech bubbles where the students will work in pairs to fill it in with appropriate dialogue. c. The teacher then discusses the answers with the students.
Production (20 minutes) 1. Students will be divided into 4 groups. 2. Each group will be given two type of musical instrument instruments: -drummer -guitarist -pianist -cellist -flutist

Thinking Skills: Constructivism 3. Teacher will give an instruction on how to do this task. 4. Each group need to write two simple sentences and a compound sentence based on the name of musical instruments. 5. Teacher asks all the groups to present their sentences. Closure (5 minutes) 1. Teacher shows a few pictures on drum, guitar, piano, flute and cello but the pictures are not shown completely. 2. The pictures are only shown part by part as clues for the pupils to guess the pictures. 3. The pupils are required to guess the incomplete pictures shown. 4. The pupils need to come to the front and write the correct answer on the board and paste the correct pictures of players of each instrument.
