The Recce': Are Relevant To Your Production

The document discusses planning for a photo shoot, including potential hazards, weather considerations, backgrounds, lighting, permissions, and contingencies. Hazards identified include a tall lamp and slippery conditions outside. The photographer will move the lamp and check weather and conditions. Backgrounds will be plain or portray seasons. Natural lighting may cause issues outside so a flash will likely be used. Permission is not needed as photos will be taken at the photographer's house or in public. Models have agreed to times and the photographer has planned for any issues with models or equipment. Weather and backup models are accounted for in planning.

Provide answers in paragraph form to the questions below that

are relevant to your production.
1. Are there any potential hazards that could pose a health and safety risk
where your photo shoot will take place (trailing cables/traffic/other obects !"
#here are not many potential hazards that could pose any health and safety
risks as part of my photos are going to be taken in my house where there
aren$t many potential hazards. #he photo%shoot will take place in my dining
room where there is a plain wall & can use for my model to stand. 'ne of the
only hazards that could be potentially harmful is the tall( glass lamp & have
ne)t to the wall that could possibly fall if knocked and smash.
& will also be shooting some photos outside for the winter/autumn themes
etc. & have seen some images & would like to recreate such as the ones on
my pinterest for the different themes. *ecause the photos are going to be
shot outside( the weather could cause my model to slip or fall over because
of frost or a lot of leaves causing her to not see where she is going for
e)ample.
+. ,hat will you do to ensure these risks are minimised"
& will move the lamp out of the way of the wall and put it in a safe place ust in
case of any accidents that could happen. &t will also give me more room to
do the photo%shoot and have more room for the model. -or the photo%shoot
outside & will check the weather before hand to see if the weather is going to
be suitable and if the place & am going to be shooting hasn$t got any
hazards.
.. ,ill the time of day/weather affect the outcome of the photos" /ave you
allowed for this"
#he time of day and weather will affect the outcome of the photos as if it is hot
weather outside and the sun is shining then the 0winter$ photos for e)ample wont
come out very well and portray the season in a clear way. #his is why & am
going to be checking the weather before hand and choose a location where my
season will be portrayed clearly.
1. /ave you considered the background to your photos( particularly if taken
outside" /ow will you ensure you will get the background you want"
2y backgrounds are going to be plain white for most of my images as my theme
is going to be black and white for my magazine colours. 3o & will use a white
background that & could edit and use the wand tool on Photoshop to make the
background whiter and ensure that it is plain. 3ome of my images are going to
be portraying different seasons( for e)ample( for my autumn shoot & am going to
be shooting somewhere with a lot of leaves.
4. /ave you considered lighting" ,hat about the 0problems$ of natural lighting(
either outside( or streaming through a window" ,ill you need to use a flash"
/ave you considered reflective obects that might spoil the effect"
& will most probably use a flash( as the images will come out in a better quality.
#here will be no problem with natural lighting as the room & am shooting in is in
the middle of my house which no light can get to from the outside and can be
easily resolved if there was any problems with natural lighting. 'utside( there
could be problems with natural lighting as the sun could be in the models$ eyes
or could leave shadows etc that would ruin the images.
5. 6o you need permission to take photos in the place/venue you have in mind"
2y images do not need permission to be taken as they are going to be in my
house and outside on different streets and public places.
7. 6o you need to book time in a room (eg the photography studio at 3hiney!"
8o & do not need to book a studio etc. as & don$t want my images to be shot in a
studio and the rooms & will be using are in my house which they don$t need to be
booked to use.
9. Are other people/crowds likely to be an issue for you" ,hat have you done to
ensure that it will not spoil the effect"
:rowds could be a possible problem as & am shooting my images outside where
they are public places so there are bound to be people walking past but to avoid
this & will wait to take the photos when it isn$t as busy.
;. Are you reliant on lifts/props/friends$ equipment/models" /ow have you
planned that these things will come together at the appointed time" Plan *"
<es( & am reliant on the models and equipment. #he models have agreed to be
my model and & have told them the specific time( date and location to do so( so
they still should be reliant to show up. #here will be no props used but will be
scarfs etc. as part of the clothing for the models which & will provide or ask if they
already have a specific item of clothing in advance.
1=. -inally( have you thought of every eventuality>"
<es( that is why & have planned to look at the weather beforehand in case of any
weather problems/unsuitable conditions. & also have models which can fill in in
case any of them can$t show up etc.
