BEFORE YOU BUY YOUR NEW BIKE

Think about it

A. HOW MUCH TO SPEND

Decide how much you can spend on it
before you go to the bicycle shop!
Do not buy the most
expensive model! It will
not make you look
cooler or smarter!
Do not buy the
cheapest bicycle,
either. If its very cheap,
it will be of poor
quality!

3.2

B. WHAT KIND TO BUY

Steel bikes may be heavier than aluminium
ones but they are cheaper and more
comfortable!
Steel bikes do not break as easily as other
types of bicycles.

C. HOW TO MAKE SURE

Ask an experienced rider (a relative or a
friend) to come with you the day you decide
to buy your new bicycle. He or she will
certainly help you with useful advice!

D. JUST BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO BUY IT

Test it! Try it out around the shop. Make sure
it is really what you want! Take your time!

Asimo: a very special robot

A short interview with Professor Yoshi Yokamora, Robotics Research Dpt. expert

33.

Asimo is a big name in robotics. What exactly is Asimo, Professor Yokamora?

34.

How special is Asimo?

35.

How easy was the Asimo project?

36.

ASIMO is certainly amazing but its not cheap, is it?

A. Oh, yes! Many people were interested. Actually,

Honda has already sold some 100 similar robots

to buyers from all over the world.

B.

Youre right! It seems the problem is that its still

quite expensive. It costs about $1,000,000,
which is quite a lot.

C. For those who don't know it, Asimo is the

amazing robot Honda built about 10 ten years

ago. Honda is very proud of it because its the
best robot in the world!

D. Well, it took scientists about 15 years to develop

its very complex electronic system. Remember

its about 1 meter 40 cm tall, it weighs 54 kg and
its battery allows him to walk for approximately
1 hour or even run at a speed of 6 km/h!

E.

Its no ordinary robot. It can walk, run,

recognize people, greet them or call them by
name. It can follow or guide them, or even send
photos of people and things it meets. It can do
many other things, too...
