Mumbai, January 30, 2014: Shoppers Stop Ltd (SSL), Indias prominent retail group (operator of large
format department stores, home stores, specialty stores like Crossword, Mothercare, M.A.C, and
hypermarkets) today reported a gross retail turnover of Rs.787.5 crores for the quarter ended
December 31st, 2013 as against Rs.677.7 crores in the corresponding period last year; up 16%. Net
Profit stood at Rs. 17.3 crore for the quarter ended December 31st, 2013.
With 65 stores across 32 cities in India, Shoppers Stop continues to grow and expand its retail
footprint. This quarter, SSL added 4 new Shoppers Stop stores in Raipur, Hyderabad, Chennai and
Jaipur international airport, 1 HyperCity store in Hyderabad, 2 M.A.C doors in Surat and Kolkata, 2
Clinique doors in Surat and Kolkata, 3 HomeStop stores, 2 in Bengaluru and one in Hyderabad and 3
Crossword stores in Jaipur, Pune and Cochin.
Driving ahead its successful Loyalty programme, SSL continued to expand its membership base
adding more than 1,23,834 new members to the First Citizen Loyalty Programme in Q3 FY14. The
programme now has a total First Citizen base of over 32.12 lac members.
Speaking on the financial performance, Mr. Govind Shrikhande Customer Care Associate &
Managing Director, Shoppers Stop Ltd. said, Q3 is the peak festive shopping quarter for retailers
with the festive season starting in October and continuing all the way till Christmas & New Year
celebrations in December. We have witnessed a healthy Sales and EBIDTA growth of 16% during this
quarter. Our focus remains on expansion in the department store category and achieving profitability
in HyperCity. We are also looking at higher visibility from our Social Media initiatives. Our Facebook
Fan club has crossed over 5.1 million fans and our loyalty franchise First Citizen Programme
continues to grow its member base while contributing significantly to the top-line.
During the quarter, Home Stop won the GIA Award from the International Home Ware Association
(IHA), Chicago. Shoppers Stop won the runner up BestPrax Prize for the project Innovative Eco
Friendly Practices" under Category Quality & Innovation during the 25th Qimpro Convention and also
bagged "The Silver Award" for the Viviana Store design at the DESIGNOMICS AWARDS in the Retail
Departmental Store Category.

Mothercare (Maternity, Infant Care) The exclusive franchise agreement for departmental
stores with Mothercare Plc UK. Currently there are 37 Shop In Shop stores and 4 Standalone
stores.
Crossword (Book stores) Currently has 85 stores
M.A.C (Cosmetics) The retail agreement with Estee Lauder to open M.A.C stores. Currently
has 33 stores with a presence in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Amritsar, Chennai, Hyderabad,
Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Surat and Kolkata.
Clinique (Cosmetics) Currently has 22 stores (including 12 shop-in-shops) in Mumbai,
Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Surat and Kolkata.
Estee Lauder - Currently has 8 stores (including 2 shop-in-shops), one each in Bengaluru,
Mumbai, Chennai , Delhi and Gurgaon.
Bobbi Brown Currently has 1 store in Delhi
Other Initiatives:
Airport Retailing 1 duty free store is run by the JV Company in the international airport at
Bengaluru
