Introduction
Certain hardware configuration conditions must be fulfilled for installation.
Hardware Requirements
WinCC supports all common IBM/AT-compatible PC platforms.
To efficiently work with WinCC, select a system with the recommended specifications.
Note
Server requirements are also valid for single-user systems unless specified otherwise.

1) The installation requires at least 100 MB of free memory space for additional system files on
the drive on which the operating system is installed. The operating system is usually installed
on drive "C:".
Depending on project size as well as size of archives and packages. On project activating,
free memory space of at least 100 MB must be available.

WinCC projects should not be stored on compressed drives or directories.

Use the recommended value in the area "Total size of swap file for all drives" for "Size of
swap file for a specific drive". Enter the recommended value in both the "Start size" field as
well as in the "Maximum size" field.

WinCC requires the Windows printer spooler to detect printer faults. Therefore, no other
printer spooler may be installed.

Note
In the case of online configuration, the recommended requirements are valid as the minimum
requirement.

Virtualization
The following virtualization systems are tested:

Requirement
The performance data of the virtual computers must meet the minimum requirements
for WinCC clients.
