The Basics of Digital Photography

The purpose of this class is to instruct the teachers on how to

use a digital camera, basic photo editing and burning a CD to back
up photos. The skills and confidence the teacher will gain will
enable them to incorporate digital photos in their lessons and
spark more engaging assignments for the students.
Basic Information
Megapixels refer to the number of pixels (tiny square boxes) that your
camera uses to record a picture. Generally the more megapixels equal
better-quality photos.

Memory Cards
Memory Cards come in many sizes and varieties. Your memory card is
determined by the camera that you purchase.
The number of picture that can be stored on a memory card is
determined by the size of the card and the megapixel rating you choose.
The higher the rating the higher the quality of the picture but the fewer
number of pictures that can be stored on the card.

Looking After Memory Card

They are quite sturdy but you do need to take care of them. When not in
use keep them in the protective plastic case.
Never touch the metal contact edge.
Consider using two smaller cards rather than one large card. If one card
is damaged you will loose some pictures but not all.

Ways To Transfer Pictures From Your Camera To Your Computer

1. Hook up to the computer using the USB cord that came with your
camera. Disadvantage is that it uses the battery in your camera
which can become very expensive.

2. A camera dock will allow you to place the camera in the dock. Plug
in the dock to computer/and power source and transfer.
Disadvantage is the cost of the dock and if you no longer use the
camera the dock is useless.
3. Some media computers come with memory card slots. Can
transfer directly to the computer. Disadvantage to this method is
that you would have to buy a new computer if you do not currently
have any memory slots
4. A memory card reader has a slot for one to several memory cards
styles. It hooks up to the computer through the USB port.
Disadvantage to this method is that you must purchase the
memory card reader separately from the camera. However the
cost is very low. I recommend that you purchase a memory card
reader that accommodates many types of memory cards not just
the type for your camera.

How to Transfer Pictures from Your Camera to Your Computer

Using the memory card reader option place the memory card in the
memory card reader.
Place the memory card reader in the USB port. The USB port is a small
flat opening on your computer. It might be in the front or it
might be in the back.
Once the memory card reader is plugged in the computer
will recognize it and will go through the steps of adding new
hardware.
Once it is recognized you will see a dialog box giving you
several choices on how to access the
card.
We will choose Copy pictures to a folder on my
computer, click OK.
The next screen brings us to the Scanner and
Camera Wizard.
Once the next button is selected it will ask us to
choose the pictures we want to transfer to the
computer. Any picture that has a check will be
transferred. If there are lots of pictures and you
only want a few you can check Clear All. This will
remove the checkmark from all pictures and then you
can check only the ones you would like to transfer.
3

Our next choice is to name the pictures and create a folder for the pictures.
In the top box type in something descriptive
you would like to name the pictures. This name will
be file name of each picture; each picture will be
assigned a number after it such as Christmas
Program 01, Christmas Program 02.
Next we will create a folder inside the My
Pictures folder (which is inside My Documents.)
Click on the button that says Browse. This opens
up a box that shows all of your
drivesClick on the My Pictures folder (if need be first click
on My Documents to open the My Pictures folder.) When My
Pictures is selected click the Make New Folder button in the
lower left hand side of the screen. A new folder is created
Name the folder, making sure it is something descriptive so you
can easily find it again. I usually add the month and year. Make
sure that the new folder you have created is selected click
the OK button.
This will bring you back to the screen where you selected the names
click the next button. You can choose to have the pictures deleted when you
are done copying. I would not choose this option. You are better hand
deleting them when you are sure you have burned a backup copy. Your files
will be downloaded to the folder you have created.
The last screen gives you a few choices of what to do with the pictures.
Choose Nothing. You will be able to preview your pictures in Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer.
Viewing Tips and Tricks
To view your pictures at other times go to My Documents My
Pictures open the folder you have created. Double click on the picture to
see a larger version and to navigate through all pictures.
If you can not tell which photo is which you need to change the view. In
the tool bar look for the button that has a blue top and colored squares
(view). When you click on arrow to the
right of this button it will give you
several choices, choose thumbnails.
This will show all photos (jpg and gif
files) as a small version of your photo
instead of an icon or a tile.

Change Orientation: If some of your pictures are not oriented the

correct way you can rotate all of them at the same time. Hold down the
CTRL key and click on each picture you need to reorient let go of the CTRL
key right click on any one of the pictures you have selected choose
either Rotate clockwise or Rotate counterclockwise.

Rename All Images In A Folder

Most images when they are saved on your camera are given a number.
Generally this number does not have any relation to your picture.
You can rename all of the pictures in a folder with the same first word or
two followed by a number. For example you can rename all pictures as tech
class and each picture will be followed by a number (1,2,3).
In your photo folder select all of your images (CTRL + A)
Right click on any image choose Rename from the list that pops up
type in a descriptive name for the files. All of the images will have the
same file name.
Special Note
This will not work if you have your file extension showing (jpg, gif). You
have to change your view so the file extension is hidden.
To do this go to your menu barchoose Tools Folder Options choose
the tab that says View scroll down until you see a section that says Hide
extension for known file types make sure there is a check mark next to
this box. Your file extensions will disappear and you can follow the directions
above.

Picasa 3
There are many programs on the
market for photo editing. We will
be using a free program from Google
called Picasa 3.
To download the program go to

http://picasa.google.com/download/index.html
5

Once Picasa is on your computer every time you open the program it will
scan any image on your hard drive and add it to the Picasa library. Besides
being a good photo editor it is also a great program for keeping your programs
organized.
This first view is called the library view. It is
organized in folders and albums on the left with thumbnail
view of your pictures on the right and tools on the bottom.
Folders in Picasa show how your photo files are
arranged physically in folders on your hard drive. Folders
in Picasa match exactly the folders on your computer that
contain photos. Moving a photo between folders will result
in the photo being moved between the folders on your
hard drive. Deleting a photo from a folder will result in the
file being deleted from your hard drive.
Albums are virtual groupings of photos that only
exist in the Picasa software. Like a playlist, you can create
combinations of any photos in a album or use a single image in multiple albums
without taking up extra space on your hard drive. If you delete photos in
albums, or whole albums, the original photo files will be untouched.
There is a special album called "Starred Photos" which is created by
Picasa and cannot be deleted. Any starred photos will be automatically added
to the Starred Photos album.

Selecting Pictures
Single click on a folder or album in the left pane and it will be expanded
in the right pane Click on any picture in the right pane to add it to the
picture tray.

The Picture Tray is located at the bottom left of the Picasa screen. It
displays the photo or photos you currently have selected.

o The Hold button (green push pin) allows a viewed photo to stick in
the Photo Tray. This function is useful when selecting photos from
multiple folders or albums.
o The Clear button (red circle) will remove your currently selection
of photos from the Photo Tray. You will receive an "are you sure?"
prompt before the tray is cleared.
o The Add To (blue album) button allows you to add the selected
photo or photos to an existing album group or create a new album.
If you create a new album you will name the album and give
descriptive information about the album.
The "Star" (star) ranking feature in Picasa lets you mark your
favorite photos in your collections. Just select the photo you wish to rank
with a star, then click the "Star" button. You should see a small star icon
appear on the thumbnail image of that photo. It will be added to the
Star Album.
Next to the Star button are two curved arrow buttons. They
allow you to rotate the selected picture.

Photo Editing
Double click on the photo you wish to edit. It can be in either the
picture tray or in your folder. Once you double click the photo will be
expanded in the right pane and your left pane will change to photo editing
tools.
Picasa lets you fix common problems and create great effects in your
photos. There are three editing tabs filled with tools to help you improve
your photos.

"Basic Fixes" Tab - These are buttons that work in one to

two clicks to crop, straighten, remove red-eye, auto contrast,
auto color, retouch, add text and fill light photos. (There's
also a Google-inspired "I'm Feeling Lucky" button here that
takes the guesswork out and enhances photos automatically.
Try it and see what happens.)

There is an undo button if you do not like your changes.

Tuning Tab - Here you will find the most advanced
editing features to fix contrast and remove color cast.
Select from fill light, highlight, shadows, color
temperature, and the neutral color dropper. The magic
wand will do one click fixing.
Effects Tab - Effects are designed to help you turn
a grey sky blue, brighten colors, and add
photographic filters. There are 12 effects to choose
from in Picasa including "Sharpen", "Sepia", "Black and White" (B&W),
"Warmify", "Film Grain", "Tint", "Saturation", "Soft Focus", "Glow", "Filtered
B&W", "Focal B&W", and "Graduated Tint."
AN IMPORTANT NOTE Never save changes to the original file. Always
save the changes under a new file name. You always need to be able to go
back to the original if you ever need it.
How to Save and Unsave Edited Photos
Saving in Picasa works differently than in other applications because it is
specifically designed to keep your original photos safe (I dont trust them so I
always use Save As to save a new file.) Here's a brief overview of the
different save options in Picasa.
Save - Select "Save" from the file menu when you want to
save changes for an individual picture (or a group of selected
photos).
Save Changes - The Save Changes button appears for
folders with edited photos. Clicking Save Changes will save all
the edits for a particular folder.
Save a Copy - This is the quickest way to create a copy of a
photo. The copy will have the same filename with a -1 at the
end.
Save As - Click "File" > "Save as " when you want to create a
copy with a different file name or save your copy to a different

location. THIS IS THE OPTION I ALWAYS USE

Export - When you want to resize, and/or change the image
quality of the photo you're saving.
Save Changes and Save both create copies of your originals in
a folder named Originals. Export creates an edited copy in a
folder named Picasa Exports in My Pictures.

How to Undo a Save

There are two ways to retrieve the original version of an edited photo: "Undo
Save" and "Revert." "Undo Save" brings you back to the original photo with the
edits still visible in Picasa, but these edits are no longer saved to disk. To undo a
save, simply go to the Edit View and press the Undo button as you would to
undo any other edit.
Reverting a photo will revert your file to its original state, discarding any edits
you have made. To Revert a photo, go to File Revert.
If youre unable to undo or revert a saved photo, its possible that the original
version of this photo has been moved. To undo or revert a saved photo, it must
be saved in the "Originals" subfolder.

Printing
In the library screen place all of the photos you wish to print in the picture
tray.
If the photos you wish to print are in different
albums/folders you will need to click the "Hold" button before
you go to another album/folder so that photo stays in the
picture tray.
Click on the picture to select it (will be a blue frame around
the picture.)
You can select more than one photo in the picture tray by
holding down the "Ctrl" button while clicking the desired photos.
9

Click the print button in the middle of the bottom section. This brings up
the print layout page where you select the size template you want (either
wallet, 3.5 x 5, 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 8 x 10, or full page for multiple photo printing).
In the Print layout screen if you want to print multiple copies of the same
picture click the plus sign (+) on the bottom of the window until the correct
number of images per photo page appear on the Print Preview.
do not change this number you will have only 1 photo per page.

If you

Borders/Text: You can add a border (and if you make it wide enough it
will be a frame) and text to your
picture before you print.
Click on the button that says
Border and Text Options In the
dialog box that opens use the slider bar
to determine how large you want the
border to be. Use the border color
button to choose a color.
In order to add a caption in this
print screen you must add a caption in
the editing screen. Under the picture
and towards the left side of the screen is a button that looks like a piece of
paper. Click on the icon and type in your caption.

Order Prints from Stores Using Picasa

You can order prints from a variety of vendors by
following these steps:
1. Select the photos you'd like to print. Your selected
photos will appear in the Picture Tray in the lower
left corner. Hold the "Ctrl" key to select multiple
pictures and press the "Hold" button to the right of
the Picture Tray when ordering photos from multiple

10

albums.
2. Click the "Order Prints" button at the bottom of the screen.
3. Choose the vendor that you wish to use from the list.
4. Sign in using your username and password for that particular site. Note: this
is not the same as your Picasa account. If you don't have an account with that
vendor, click "Create an Account."
5. Once you sign in, Picasa will transfer your selected photos to the print
processor's site.
6. Follow the instructions located on the site to complete your order.

Extra Information to Know

How to Export Photo (save in a different folder on your
hard drive)
You can use Picasa's "Export" feature to save copies of your
edited photos. Unlike "Save," exporting allows you to choose a
different location to export to, and allows you to select the
image size and quality of the exported copy. Use export if
you need to resize your picture to email.
1. Select the photos you want to export. Click "Hold" to
select photos from different folders.
2. Click "Export" at the bottom right of the screen.
3. In the "Export to Folder" screen, you'll see the option to change the folder
name and location of your exported photos, as well as image size and quality
options. Make sure you are placing the newly created folder where you can find
it (My Pictures folder) by using the browse button to navigate to the correct
folder.
4. You can change the size of the image depending on what you want to do with
the image. Resize if you are planning on emailing the image. (See further
information below)
5. Click "OK."
Your exported images will now be saved on your hard drive and be visible in
Picasa. By default, the copied images will be in My Pictures\Picasa Exports on
your computer.

11

When you want to resize, and/or control jpeg compression level of the photo
you are saving, you can use the Export option. This option is also
useful when you want to make edited copies of multiple pictures at
once. Unlike saving, exporting doesnt affect your original photos.
Sending An Image Through Email
If you have Outlook or a gmail account you can send an email with the
pictures attached directly through Picasa. Select the pictures you
want to send. click the email button choose either Outlook or
gmail your emails will be attached to the email.
I would recommend not sending files larger than 1 Mb. if you look at
the information in the lower left corner, the total file size will be
displayed. FYI a small size file is around 448X336 pixels, medium is
640X480 pixels and large is 1024X768 pixels. If you must send large
photos, you should send them one at a time. Video files are always
large and should only be sent one at a time.

How Do I Set Picasa To Send Email Using My Email Program If I Dont

Have Outlook or Gmail?
You can set Picasa to send email using your email program. Please do the
following:
1. Open Picasa
2. Click "Tools" > "Options" > "Email."
3. Under "Email Program," set Picasa to use your email program.
4. Click "OK."
You should now be able to send email using your email program.

Import From My Camera

In most cases, simply connecting your digital camera to the computer using your
USB cable should prompt you to select a method to download the photos. If you
are using Windows XP and receive the prompt asking you how to download the
photos, simply select Picasa. The photos will instantly start loading into Picasa
Import Tray.
12

You can also perform an import manually. Make sure your camera is connected to
the computer. Just click the "Import" button in Picasa. At the top of the import
screen, click "Select Device" and choose your camera. Images will begin to load
instantly.

Add a Keyword to a Photo

You can label photos in Picasa with a keyword that will allow you to easily search
for that photo. To add a keyword to your photo click on "View" "Keywords" or
use the keyboard shortcut CTRL-K.
To search for a photo with a keyword simply type the keyword in the search box
that appears in the upper right-hand corner of the Picasa screen. This will
trigger only photos with that keyword to appear.

Find My Photos On My Hard Drive

To find any photo on the hard drive, right click the image and select "Locate on
Disk." This will open Windows Explorer to the file's location.
What Are Captions?
Picasa creates captions the way journalists do - using the IPTC standard. That
means your captions are saved along with the photos and stay with them, even
when you export them, send them by email, or send them to friends using Hello.
Picasa captions are fully editable and searchable, and you can choose whether to
display them or not.
To create a caption for a photo, double click on the desired photo and place
your cursor in the text titled, "Make a caption!" You can then type your caption
in the space provided.
If you'd like to delete a caption, simply click the trash can icon to the right of
the caption text. To edit a caption, place your cursor at the beginning or end of
the caption and use your keyboard's arrow keys to change the cursor's position.
13

It's not possible to use your mouse to re-position the cursor to the middle of
the text.
Please note that captions will only be displayed in Picasa and other IPTC
compatible programs. Also, your captions won't be displayed when you print,
email your photos, or run the auto-slideshow.
Make a Screensaver
Use the "Create" menu in Picasa to make photo screensavers that play on a
computer when it is inactive. You will first need to install Picasa on the computer
where you want the screensaver to be displayed.
1. Select the photos in Picasa that you want to appear in the screensaver.
2. In the top menu of Picasa, go to Create > Add to Screensaver.
3. In the "Display Properties" box that opens, click "OK." This creates copies of
all the photos you had selected and saves them into a new folder on your
computer under My Pictures/ScreenSaver.
To Rearrange Or Remove Photos In Your Screensaver:
1. Go to the "Exported Pictures" collection in Picasa.
2. Find the folder called "ScreenSaver."
3. Drag and drop photos to rearrange the order in which they appear. To delete
a photo, select the image and click the Delete key on your keyboard. This will
delete the copied file (not the original) from your computer.

Can I View All My Photos In Chronological Order

Picasa's Timeline lets you instantaneously scroll through a chronological catalog
of your photos. To see a timeline of your photos, on the menu bar click view then
"Timeline".
To move the timeline forward or back, you can click on the arrows at the bottom
of the screen.

14

To see a slideshow of the album, double-click one of the thumbnails. This will
open the folder. To start a slideshow press the arrow. Another way to to see a
slide show is to click view slide show.

How Do I Create A Gift CD?

You can create a gift CD or DVD for any existing folders or albums in Picasa. To
create a gift CD/DVD, please take the following steps:
1. Click the Create Gift CD button in any folder or album header.
2. To include additional folders or albums, click the Add More button. You
can then select the checkboxes in the Folder List for the folders or
albums you'd like to include.
When you add more folders or albums, a 'Calculating' message appears
above the Burn Disc button. Please don't click the button before this
message disappears, or else Picasa may miscalculate the necessary size of
the CD/DVD.
3. Adjust your gift CD settings:
o To resize the photos, choose a new size from the 'Photo Size'
drop-down menu. If you don't want to resize your photos, choose
'Original Size.'
o To include an auto-running slideshow of your photos, select
'Include Slideshow' in step 1.
If you select 'Include Slideshow,' photos will be copied in the
same order that you had the photos arranged in your folder or
album. Otherwise, photos will be copied in the same order as they
are stored on your hard drive, most likely alphabetical order
according to filename.
To include a copy of Picasa, select 'Include Picasa' in step 2. This
lets your recepients see the edits you've made to the photos when
they open Picasa on their computer. Otherwise, you'll need to
export your photos to let others see your edited photos without
using Picasa.
o You can create a barebones CD by deselecting both 'Include
Slideshow' and 'Include Picasa.'
4. Name your gift CD/DVD.
o

15

5. Insert a blank disk.

6. Click the Burn Disc button.

Once you click the Burn Disc button, it's not possible to add more photos
to the same CD or DVD. If you need to add additional photos, please use
a new disc.
It's currently not possible to copy audio files or include music on your CD
or DVD.

Can I Burn A CD To Take To A Photo Lab For Processing?

Picasa does not specifically support burning CDs to be taken to a photo lab for
processing. However, creating a Gift CD excluding Picasa and the Slideshow
creates a bare bones photo CD that might serve your purpose.
Select a folder or label of photos you wish to copy.
Click "Gift CD."
If you wish to add additional Folders or Labels of photos, click "Add More."
Select the additional Folders or Labels by checking the boxes listed next to
them.
Uncheck "Include Slideshow."
Uncheck "Include Picasa."
Insert a blank CD or DVD.
Click "Burn Disc."
The CD will contain a folder containing each of the Folders or Labels you
included in the Gift CD.
You can get many more answers to your questions by going to Help on the menu
bar.

Using Roxio to Burn a CD

17

Make sure you know where the files (pictures) you want to burn are
located.
Place a CD-R or CD-RW in the CD drive. It should automatically come up
with a list of items. Choose Add Files Using Roxio Creator Data. click OK.

In the next screen make sure that Data is selected

in the left task pane. The details will be displayed in
the right task pane. We want to choose Data Disk.
Please note that we have a very basic version of Roxio
on the laptops. Some of the options will not work until
you pay to upgrade. I am able to copy an actual disk by
using Copy Disk but I am doing it on a computer where I
have two CD drives. I dont know if you can do it with a
computer with only one drive.
Once you select the Data Disk option it will open a screen in the right
pane that will allow you to
create your project.
First in the Volume
Label section type in the
name you wish to assign this
CD. Be as descriptive as
possible but know there are
a
limited number of
characters you may use when
creating a label. The name
you choose will be the words
that show up when the
completed CD is placed in a CD ROM drive.
IMPORTANT NOTE- When burning photos to a CD with the intention of
taking them to a store to print NEVER burn a folder to the CD (such as the
folder you have created). The machines can not read a folder. You must copy
each individual photo file to the CD.
Next click the Add Data button located above the Volume Label section.
Select either files or folders. You will navigate to the location of your
files/folders. If you are burning pictures you will probably go to My
Documents My Pictures the folder with your pictures.

18

When you get to the folder with your files you must select the files you
wish to include. You could use CTRL + A to select all files, if the files are
contiguous select the first file press the shift key and click on the last file,
or hold down the Ctrl key and click on each file to select it. When all files
have been selected click on the Add button in the bottom right of the
screen.
Once you have added the files you can go
back to another folder and add more files or
folders.
You will notice in the lower left of the
screen a CD. As you add files the CD will
begin to fill up. This gives you an indication
of how much room you still have left on the
CD. Most CDs hold around 700-800 MB of
space. Please note that picture files, sound files and video files are MUCH
larger than document files.
Once all of the files are found it is time to burn. Click on the red button
in the lower right side of the screen that says Click Button To Continue. The
burning process will begin.
Depending on the files you have added, the type of CD-R you are using
and your version of Roxio you may receive a message stating that the CD may
not work on all computers. Just click OK.
Label the CD so you know what is on it. A permanent marker is OK.
I always test the CD on another computer to make sure I can access the
files before I store it away.

with your photos.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE
It is critical that you back up your pictures. If your hard drive crashes they
are gone. You could take your computer to a repair place but it will be very
expensive. Some better options:
1. Burn to a CD. I usually burn two CDs in case one is defective. Always
test your CD to make sure it worked before you store it away. Put the
2nd one some place different than the first , maybe your safety deposit
box.
2. Save to a portable hard drive. I do not recommend that you save it
permanently on a flash drive. They get so much use and abuse that there
is a good chance that it could get broken. A portable hard drive is a
better choice. You can find them on sale for around $100 depending on
the size.
3. Store on line. A great free site is 4shared.com. You get 5 GB of space
for free or you can pay for more. The one restriction is that you must
access the site once a month. Here is the actual address.

Personally anything that is really important to me I back up all three ways listed
above. I know it is over kill but I wont lose my important files.

Have fun and take lots of pictures.

To Burn Photos to CD Using Windows XP

There are many CD burning programs that you can purchase. However
you can use Windows XP to burn a CD if you have a CD Burner.
Begin by placing a burnable CD in the CDR drive.
To open Windows Explorer go to the start menu and select My Computer
in the right pane.

We need to the view that provides both the right and left pane. On the
top of the tool bar
there is a button
that is labeled
Folders. Clicking
on that button will
change to
Windows Explorer,
the view we need.

Once Windows Explorer

is open you will see two
panes. The pane on the left
gives you all of the drives on
your computer. The pane on
the right will show details on
anything you choose in the
left pane.

IMPORTANT NOTE- clicking on any file in the left pane will open it in the right
pane. Clicking on the + sign in the left pane will expand the listing in the left
pane and WILL NOT OPEN IT IN THE RIGHT PANE.

21

In the left pane click on the folder that holds your pictures. If you cant
see your
folder click
on the + next
to My
Documents, if
you have to
click on the +
in front of
My Pictures
do that too.
Once you see
the folder
that has your
pictures click on the folder so the contents of the folder is showing in the
right hand pane.
IMPORTANT NOTE- When burning photos to a CD with the intention of
taking them to a store to print NEVER burn a folder to the CD (such as the
folder you have created). The machines can not read a folder. You must copy
each individual photo file to the CD.
Make sure that in the left pane the CDR drive (most often D) is visible.
If it is not click on the plus sign in front of My Computer to expand it.
We will drag the files we want from the right pane to the left pane.
You can select in several ways
o Click on the photo to select it
o If there are several photos that are all right in a row click on the
first photo hold down the shift key and click on the last photo.
All photos between the first and last will be selected.
o If there are several photos that are not all right in a row click
each photo while holding down the Ctrl key.
o If you want all of the photos hold down the Ctrl key and press the
letter A (for all) key on the keyboard. All items in your photo
folder disk will be selected. If you wish to deselect one or two
press and hold the Ctrl key and click on each photo you wish to
deselect.
o After any of these methods let go of the mouse.
Click on any photo DO NOT LET GO OF THE MOUSE BUTTON and
drag the photo to the left side pane and onto the CDR drive until it is
22

highlighted. Let go of the mouse and the files will be copied to the folder.
The original files will still be in your photo folder.

A balloon will
appear at the
bottom right of
your screen
telling you there
are files waiting
to be written to the CD. Click on the balloon to see the files.

The next screen is the

CD
burning screen. If all of the
photos are shown you are
ready to burn. In the CD
Writing Tasks pane on the
left side select Write these
files to the CD. This will
burn the photos to your
CDs. The CD drawer will pop
open when it is done burning.
You can take the CD to most stores and print from the CD.
A CD is a great way to save your pictures for the future so that you can
clean off your memory card and start taking more pictures.
If The Balloon Does Not Appear To Bring You To The CD Writing Screen
Click on the start button and choose My Computer
In My Computer double click on the drive for your CD burner. Usually
it is D or E, but not always.
Once you open the CD burner drive it will show the same information as
above .
If for some reason the Write these files to CD is not visible click on
file in the menu bar. One of your choices is write these files to a CD.
You may have to select all of the photo files before it will burn.
