Fourth Grade Rocks

Week of December 8, 2014

Reading

This week in reading we be


con+nuing to work on the
skill of asking ques+ons.
We will be reading a text
about the mystery of the
Mary Celeste. We will also
con+nue to work on
possessive nouns. This is
what our spelling lists will
consist of for the next two
weeks.
All guided reading groups
will be working on the
same ar+cle this week. It is
an ar+cle on MinecraC.
This will give us an
opportunity to work on
wri+ng pieces as a whole
class.

Wri+ng

In wri+ng this week, we will


con+nue to work on and rene
our narra+ve wri+ng . Our focus
this week is focusing on a small
moment to stretch out and really
describe. We will be reading an
example about a family tradi+on
and watch a video of Barry Lane,
a terric wri+ng mentor,
explaining how to stretch out a
moment to create a thrilling
story.

It is chilly out on the playground, please make sure your
child has some warm layers to play outside wearing!
