Installation ActWin-H (Version 3.52)
From CD:
Insert the ActWin CD in your CD driver.
Your web browser will start with Welcome to ActWin 3.51A and ActWin-E installation.
Choose Install ActWin
Select Run, don not select save file
You can always start the installation manually. Click on Windows Start button. Enter
D:\INSTALL.EXE. As D you should enter your CD driver letter.

Installation from floppy disks:


Copy the file Install.exe from the CD to floppy disk 1.
Copy the file Install.W02 from the CD to floppy disk 2.
Copy the file Install.W03 from the CD to floppy disk 3.
Copy the file Install.W04 from the CD to floppy disk 4.
Insert floppy disk 1 in your floppy driver. Click on Windows Start button. Enter
A:\INSTALL.EXE

Installation ActWin-E (Version 3.16)


From CD:
Insert the ActWin CD in your CD driver.
Your web browser will start with Welcome to ActWin 3.24C and ActWin-E installation.
Choose Install ActWin-E
Select Run, don not select save file

Installation from floppy disks:


Copy the file Install.exe from the CD to floppy disk 1.
Copy the file Install.W02 from the CD to floppy disk 2.
Insert floppy disk 1 in your floppy driver. Click on Windows Start button. Enter
A:\INSTALL.EXE

Driver information
Hitachi EH-Nano

This driver is a free driver. You can program Hitachi series


Mirco-EH 10, 14 and 28 without expansion units. Use this
driver if you should program EH-Micro series and you
do not have any license.

Hitachi EH-Micro:

With this driver you can program Hitachi series Micro-EH.


Use this driver if you should program EH-Micro series
and you have a license.

Hiatchi H-series:

With this driver you can program all Hitachi PLC series H
(HB, H200-252, EH-150, Micro-EH and H300-4004). Use
this driver if you should program series HB, H200H252, EH-150 or H300-H4004

If it stands "DEMO" after the driver you


dont have a license for this driver. In
DEMO mode you can do everything
offline but only download program with
max 80 steps to the PLC.

On this page you can see which


language you have license for and which
language you not have license for
(Demo) on selected driver.
To use language SFC please select
"Mixed mode"

License disk:
If a license disk are included in your software package, you have to install this license .
Run the file "INSTALL.EXE" from the license disk. Install the license in same directory as you have install
ActWin in.
Make same procedure for ActWin-E

Dongle license:
ActWin support a new type of dongle. It exist 2 types of dongle, USB or parallel.
The parallel dongle are the world's smallest parallel port hardware key
You only need to install dongle support if your package includes a dongle!
The installation needs some files. These files are included on the CD (in the Dongle directory)
or you can download them from the Internet.

Extract all files and subdirectories to your hard disk.

Install USB dongle : (Only Windows 98, Windows ME or Windows 2000)


Insert the USB dongle in the USB port. The operating system should find a
new hardware. The installation needs driver files. Select dongle directory on
the ActWin CD or the directory on your PC, which you have saved the files on.

Install Parallel dongle:


Insert the dongle in the parallel port. Run file SETUP.EXE from the Dongle
directory on the CD, or from your hard disk (if you have downloaded the files)

Port 2 is a RS485 or RS422 port.
Port setup: Default speed on port 2 is 4800 baud. You can change this by setting a value in
memory WRF03D. Do this from an I/O Monitor table.

Example: Change the communication speed on port 2 to 19200 baud.


Set memory WRF03D to 16#8200.
Set memory R7F6 to 1
Wait until R7F6 is = 0
The value in WRF03D will change to 16#0200.

First time use of a new Micro-EH PLC unit.


When the PLC is new the OK led is flashing. You have to clear the PLC. Do following.
Power On the PLC and connect cable between PC and PLC.
Start ActWin and select menu Communication/Clear PLC.
After Clear PLC OK, restart the PLC. (Power Off and Power On)

Communication setup Hitachi series HB, H200-H252, H300-H4004.

Cable:
Use cable ActCab-H2
The transmission speed is set to 19200 in the cable Actcab-H2.
To use other transmission speed, following change is needed in the cable.
D-Sub PLC side: Short cut 8 and 14 = 19200 baud
D-sub PLC side: Short cut 8 and 13 = Transmissions speed set by switches on the PLC.
