Pretreatment

Aluminium, steel or Zintec surfaces to be coated must be clean and free from grease. Iron phosphate and
particularly lightweight zinc phosphating of ferrous metals improves corrosion resistance.
Aluminium substrates may require a chromate conversion coating.

Application

Interpon 700 AM powders can be applied by manual or automatic electrostatic spray equipment. Unused
powder can be reclaimed using suitable equipment and recycled through the coating system.

Additional
Information

Interpon 700 AM in conjunction with BioCote Ltd has been tested for antimicrobial efficacy versus the ISO
22196: 2007 and exhibited a minimum of 95% and up to 99.99%v reduction in bacterial population, classified
as microbiological results satisfactory. Testing by Biocote Ltd is carried out by an independent laboratory
and has included the following bacteria:
Listeria monocytogenes
Escheria coli 0157
Salmonella enteritidis
Staphylococcus aureus (resistant strain)
Bacilus subtilis
Pseudomonas auruginosa
Salmonella typhimurium
Streptococcus faecalis
Legionella pneumophila
Enterbacter aerogenes
Interpon 700HR (High Reactivity) powders are also available for use where a lower stoving temperature or
shorter curing schedule is required.
