Synopsis: Dead Phoet Society


The Seven boys, Neil Perry, Todd Anderson, Knox Overstreet, Charlie Dalton, Richard
Cameron, Steven Meeks, and Gerard Pitts, recently enter to Welton Academy. This
school is an elite boys boarding school which embraces the four principal: tradition,
honor, discipline, and excellence.
At the beginning of class, an English teacher, Mr. Keating, just begin his English
class. In his first meeting, he told about an idea of carpe diem (seize the day), and
instruct the students to focus of this idea. Mr. Keating also told that the students can
called him "O Captain My Captain!. Later meeting, he commanded all of the
students to rip the introduction of poetry books. Also, he told the students to stand
on his desk to see the world in a different way. He made a unique method in
teaching.
Because of carpe diem, some students wanted to resurrect the club which named
Dead Poet Society after they discovered that Keating was a former student at
Welton. The Dead Poets Society members gather in the cave near school and find
the freedom from schools discipline. The members read the poets together and
take fun.
One day, Charlie published an illegitimate article in the school newspaper. In article
Charlie required that girl should be admitted to Welton. When the headmaster told
about this illegitimate article, Charlie offered him a phone call from God in support
about Charlies statement. Charlie then punished by the headmaster. The
headmaster then rebuke to Keating about Keatings method.
Neil wanted to be an actor but his father wanted to be a doctor and he knows that
his father will disapprove. He took in audition of a drama. His father knew it and he
ordered Neil to withdraw. He still followed his desire and he played in a drama to
make sure that he wants to be an actor. His father watched Neil play in a drama.
After Neil played in drama, his father takes Neil home and tells him that he will join
in a military school to prepare him for Harvard University. Because Neil didnt want
to be a doctor, Neil commits suicide.
At the request of Neils parents, the headmaster investigate about Neils death.
Cameron meets the school administration and made Dead Poets Society the
scapegoat in Neils death. He said that Mr. Keating should responsible about Neils
death. Later the school governor fired Mr. Keating.

When Keating leaves from the school, he enters the room to take a few belongings.
He saw that Nolan replaces himself. After took a few belongings he leaves from this
class. Todd reveals that the boys were intimidated into signing the denunciation.
Nolan ordered Todd to be quiet. But he resisted Nolans command by stand on his
desk. Much of the students followed the Todd action and they looked to Keating.
Finally, Keating leaved happily.
