Exactly 58 years ago, the most loved President of the Philippines, the late Pres.
RamonMagsaysaywaskilledwhenthePresidentialplane,dubbedMt.Pinatubo,a
convertedDouglasC47Skytraincrashedaround1:40a.m.intheslopesofMt.
ManunggalinCentralCebu.WithhimwherehighrankingPhilippinegovernment
officialsandthesolesurvivorwasNestorMataayoungreporter,whoisstillalive
today.
Mylatefather,Atty.JesusLindongAvilawasagoodfriendofthePresidentso
when his remains was brought down by helicopter to the old Lahug Airport, he
broughtmealong,wheretherewasalargecrowdofpeoplewaitingforthearrivalof
hisremains.ThenaSikorskyH19Chickasawappearedandlandedinexactarea
closetothelefthandsideoftheentrancearchoftheAsiaTownITParktoday.Then
thebodywasplacedintheChapelinCampLapuLapuforawhile,andthenflownto
Manilaforburial.
Laterinlife,IlearnedmoreaboutPres.MagsaysayfromthelateSirMaxSoliven,
whotoldmethatthesuccessofPres.MagsaysayagainsttheCommunistorganization
calledtheHukbalahapwasduetohisnearlyforgottensloganonhowtocombatthe
scourgeofCommunismcalledthefourFsPres.Magsaysaysaid,Findem,fool
em,fightemandfinishemthenofferthemthehandofpeace.Inshort,whenyou
negotiate with your enemies, internal or foreign, you must do it in a position of
strength.
BecausePres.Magsaysayruledforonlyfouryearsanddiedquiteyoungat50years
old,thePresidentswhosucceededhimcouldntlickthethreatofcommunism.While
theconjugalMarcosdictatorshipcapturedCommunistPartyofthePhilippines(CPP)
JoseMariaJomaSison,howeveraftertheEDSARevolt,Pres.CorazonCory
Aquinoreleasedhimwithout anyconditions this iswhytoday,theCommunist
insurgencycontinueswhileJomarunsitfromthesafetyofUtrecht,Netherlands.
WhenPNoytookoverthePresidencyinJuly2010,hispoliticaladviserwasRonald
LlamasofAkbayan,whichmanyanticommunistgroupsbelieveisanaboveground
allyoftheCPP.OnMay25,2012,theAkbayanCitizensActionPartyheldits5th
RegularCongressatthePhilippineInternationalConventionCenter(PICC)withno
lessthanPres.Aquinoastheirkeynotespeaker,wherehedeclared,AkbayanandI
thinkalike!IrecallwritingacolumntellingPNoythatifonlyherevealedthisfact
duringthe2010electionshewouldntwinthePresidency!
Butthatwas2012,fastforwardthreeyearslater,AkbayanPartyListRep.Walden
Bellosuddenlyresignedfromhisposition,tellingthepressthathequitbecausethe
President was washing his hands of responsibility of a mission he planned and
executedandforcoveringupthebotchedMamasapanooperationlastJan.25.

WhatweareseeinghereisthewithdrawalofsupportbyanAkbayanstalwartanda
staunchallyofthePresidentandwithmanyCommunistfrontorganizationsnow
marchingthestreetsdemandingtheresignationofPNoy,onecantrulysaythatthe
President is now isolated, even his closest friends have left him. They were still
supportinghimevenafterthekillingofthe44SAFtroopers,butwhattheycannot
standisthemassivecoverupthatisbeingdonebytheloyalsupportersofPNoy,
literallyblamingeveryone,butnoblamemustfalluponthePresident.
Last Mar. 1 students from the various universities and colleges of Cebu held a
nationwideprotestagainsttuitionhikescallingitaNationalDayofRageforJustice,
AccountabilityandChangeandjoinedthecallfortheresignationofPres.Aquino.
NioOlayvarAkbayan,vicechairfortheVisayassaidthatthestudentsarecallingfor
AquinotostepdownforhisincompetenceinhandlingoftheMamasapanofiascoand
hisfeebleresponsetotheYolandadisaster,theporkbarrelissueandthetuitionhikes.
NowthattheFilipinopeoplehasseenthereportoftheBoardofInquiry(BOI)bythe
Philippine National Police (PNP), which many Filipinos believe spoke the truth,
suddenlyDILGSec.ManuelMarRoxascametotherescueofPNoydeclaringthat
the President had No liability in the Mamasapano massacre, blaming instead
suspended PNP Chief Alan Purisima for failing to follow the Presidents orders.
HmmmarentthesepresidentialordersemanatingfromthatsocalledChainof
Command?
ThisbringsustotheinvestigationorderedbyPres.AquinofortheDepartmentof
Justice(DoJ)toinvestigatetheMamasapanodebacle.ButforaslongasSec.LeilaDe
LimacontinuestopursueherideathatthereisNoChainofCommandthenher
officialinvestigationasorderedbyPNoycanalreadybeconsideredasfaultytosay
theleastforIreckonitwouldtoethelineofMalacaangandmakethiscoverup
official. As we said, worse than the deaths of the 44 fallen SAF troopers is the
massivecoverup!
