OPERATION
Control Description

How to remove the hard cover:

While pressing the center of the cover with your thumbs as illustrated, pull the cover
towards you to move it.

Connection
Rear Panel

Power supply should be in range of DC24V20% or AC220V10%. The unit

would be damaged when power supply exceeding DC24V20% or AC220V
10%
The unit will turn off automatically when power supply beyond the supply range to
protect internal circuit.
Transducer cable should not be folder, wrested, and dragged. No huge pressure
was allowed to touch it. Extended cable should be waterproof.
Date can output to other equipment with NMEA0183 format.

MENU2
DBS MODE: Press the right key

to turn on DBS mode. The right of LCD will

display DBS. The Depth Below Surface mode provides a draft-adjusted depth
reading and will be useful in referencing to the nautical chart. The draft should be
adjusted by the DRAFT key according to the actual draft value.
The default draft value is 10m.
DRAFT VALUE: Press the right key

to adjust the draft value according to the

actual draft value.

AVE SELECTION: Press the right key

to turn on or turn off the save function.

NOTE: The default setting is off.

SAVE INTERVAL: The default setting is2 s. Press the right key
to set the save
interval from 1 s to 12 s.
DEPTH UNIT: Press the right key
to set the depth unit. The adjustable unit: m,

COLOR BAR
Intensity of echo signal is replaced by different color. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green,
Light Green, Lake Blue, Light Blue represent the echo from strong to weak.
The key can erase 4 of 7 colors makes the picture clearer.

SPEED
Press the SPEED key

to adjust the picture speed from 0 level to 8 level:

4/1-2/1-1/1-1/2-1/4-1/8-1/16-STOP.

The right of LCD will display the corresponding character: NAV, HIS, or SIM to tell
you the current mode.
NAVDefault Mode: This mode is the default mode.
9

HISHistory Mode: This mode can replay the last 48hs history echo at least.
Press the

key of the

knob to adjust history echo time.

Press the

key of the

knob to adjust history range.

The standard supply is 256M SD card. Now, the standard supply can support
48hs history echo.

If use SD card with more capability, the save time can be longer.

SIMSimulation EchoThe simulator provides, without connection of transducer,

simulated operation of the unit, using internally generated echoes.

AUTO RANGE
Auto Range can adjust range automatically according to the current depth.
Press the

key; you can turn on/off this function. The right of LCD will display

AUTO.
NOTE: When you use this function in shallow area. STC function is recommended
strongly.

STC
To adjust STC from 0 to 32.
It can suppress the level of sensitivity in shallow area to avoid interfere
from air bubble etc.
It act most effective when STC set 32, least action when set 0. STC action will be
lost when Gain is less than the middle.

10

GAIN
It represents most sensitive when gain set 32, least when set 0.
Echo color from strong to weak is: Red-Orange-Yellow-Green-Light
-Green-Cyanine-Light Blue.
Best way is that double echo just appears when it works for echo sounder.
Overfull silt and seaweed will cause receiving difficultly. Adjust Gain value
to get more sensitive.

11

MAINTENANCE
WARNING
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD!
Do not open the equipment.
Only qualified personnel should work inside the
equipment.

Regular Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential for good performance. Checking the items listed in
the table below monthly will help keep your equipment in good shape for years.

Checking
Item
Checking
Transducer cable
Check cable for damage.
Power cable, transducer cable Check that they are tightly fastened. Refasten if
plug
necessary.
Display unit ground
Check for corrosion. Clean if necessary.
Power supply voltage
Check voltage. If out of rating correct problem.

Cleaning the Display Unit

Dust or dirt on the display unit can be removed with a soft cloth. If desired, a
water-moistened cloth may be used. Use special care when cleaning the LCD since it
scratches easily. Do not use chemical cleaners to clean the display unit-they can
remove paint and markings.

Transducer Maintenance
Marine life on the transducer face will result in a gradual decrease in sensitivity. Check
the transducer face for cleanliness each time the boat is dry-docked. Carefully remove
any marine life with a piece of wood or fine-grade sandpaper.

INSTALLATION
Transducer Tank and Transducer
Transducer Tank
Make a 216 mounting hole on the hull.
Joint transducer tank on the hull without welding line and air hole. Pay attention to
other accessories before jointing.
After transducer tank cooling, put transducer into the tank through the tanks
inferior hole and make the cable through the upper hole.
Following the sketch map, push into thick rubber gasket and flange in turn, and
joint them with the tank with bolts.
Push airproof loop into the airproof groove which is on the transducer tank.
Push copper gasket into the upper hole of transducer tank, and make sure it joint
with airproof loop tightly.
The last step is to install screw cap. The screw cap should be screwed with
spanner to insure the airproof of the whole tank.

Transducer
Transducer is a key part in the system as it is a precise sensor. It is must be
carefully protected when transport and install. No huge pressure allowed to be
acted it. Working in the air or dropping to ground can damage it. Less effective
may be occurred when paints and duty hanging on its surface or incorrect
installation.
Sometimes two transducers can be selected to install the head and buttock if the
vessel is too long or sidelong.
It should be installed flat surface far away source of vibration and water current.
Transducer should be vertical. One cover using lead water current maybe
installed to less water current effect on transducer when necessary.
Transducer cannot be left from water and touch air while working, or will be
damaged.
It should be at least 50cm deeper under water but flat with keel.

Display Unit
Mounting considerations
The display unit is designed for overhead mounting and desktop mounting. When
choosing a location keep the following in mind.
Keep the display unit out of direct sunlight.
The temperature and humidity should be moderate and stable.
Locate the unit away from exhaust pipes and vents.
The mounting location should be well ventilated.
Mount the unit where shock and vibration are minimal.
For maintenance and checking purpose, leave sufficient space at the sides and
rear of the unit and leave slack in cables.
A magnetic compass will be affected if the display unit is placed too close to it.
Observe the following compass safe distances to prevent disturbance to the
magnetic compass:
Standard compass: 0.4 meters
Steering compass: 0.3meters.
