Sand Springs Elks Lodge #2553

Letter From the Exalted Ruler

Fellow Elks,
This is my first letter as Exalted Ruler. I want to say thanks to all the
members for trusting me in this role. We have a great team of officers and
a lot of support from other members and I believe it will make for a good
year. Big thanks to all the people that volunteered at the lodge while
Mike, Darla and I were at state convention. The flag pole is FIXED!
Thank you, Shaun Osborn and Mike Ramsey, for your help. As most of you
know we had a significant hail storm on March 25th, and we are in the process of getting the roof replaced and working with insurance on the matter.
The next big thing is re-sealing the parking lot. We have had a member
come forward who does re-seals professionally and has volunteered his
time and equipment if we pay for material. We will also need some volunteers to help with the labor. Bruce Taylor, the hypnotist was very well attended. If you missed it you need to come to the next one. Its come to my
attention that sometimes we forget who is sitting next to us and around us
while at the lodge. We need to watch our language and have respect for all
the members while at the lodge. We will be watching the Kentucky derby
May 2nd, come out and join us. We still haveExalted

It is a great sadness that we have

lost a wonderful long time dedicated
member of 32 years. He spent many hours doing
what he loved doing, and that was spending time
with his Elk friends and doing good deeds for our
Elks organization. He spent many hours devoting
his time to helping our lodge in so many ways. Being our E.N.F chairperson tirelessly, P.E.R, Trustee,
& was also Secretary for many years. Our thoughts
& prayers are with his wife Lynn as she has always been a great asset to our lodge too and also
to their family.
IN LOVING MEMORY OF JERRY GOODALE
Your Elk friends will always appreciate you!

was a great success. We had a great turnout from
all the organizations that we donated to. This is a
program that we look forward to every year and we
thank all of you for participating and being here to
support these hard working organizations that we
sponsor. They loved the pizza that Mike made and
all gave very appreciative speeches that make this
program all the more worth while. We look forward
to who we can help next year!
