I installed Packet Tracer on multiple systems but it wont start. The
installation goes perfect, the files are in the correct folder. But when I start Packet
ubuntubuzz ! on
Tracer (via cli or gui) nothing happends. Via cli i get the message " Starting
Packet Tracer 5.3" but still nothing happends.
I've tried a clean install without video drivers, and also 5.2 and the ubuntu
package as well as the tar.gz file. I'm out of options i think.

I'm having the exact same problem, funny thing is I have it working
on another install of Unbuntu 11.10... so I'm not sure what is different

I've got a 64-bit machine running Ubuntu 12.10, same thing was
happening to me, turns out Packet Tracer couldn't find some libraries,
solved it by installing the 32-bit version of some libraries, namely libxrandr2:
sudo apt-get install libxrandr2:i386
BLOG ARCHIVE
I also made a symbolic link for libQt3Support.so.4 from the packet tracer
folder:

sudo ln -s /opt/pt/lib/libQt3Support.so.4 /usr/lib/
