Connecting the AONT-100C


To set up the connections for the AONT-100C, follow the
instructions below:

Connect the Network


The network connection should already be established. If it is not,
please contact your service provider.

Connect Power
Connect the power adapter to the power connector on the side of
the unit.
Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet.
Verify that the POWER LED on the front of the unit is solid green.
Verify that the FIBER LED on the front of the unit is solid green
(not flashing).

Connect Data Service


Connect Ethernet cables to the Ethernet ports on the side of the unit.

Configure PPPoE on a Client in Windows XP


From your desktop, click Start. Choose Connect To>>
Show All Connections.

In the left panel, click Create a New Connection. The New
Connection Wizard opens.

Click Next.

Select Option 1, Connect to the Internet. Click Next.

Select Option 2, Set Up My Connection Manually. Click Next.

The Wizard asks How do you want to connect to the Internet?
Selection Option 2, Connect Using a Broadband connection that
requires a user name and password. Click Next.
7 Enter a name for the connection. Click Next.

Enter the Username and Password as configured in the server
(/etc/ppp/pap-secrets.)

Click Finish. A new connection now exists in the Network
Connections box.
10 To establish a PPPoE connection, right-click the Newly Created
Network Connection and select Connect.
11 Click Connect. The client dials the PPPoE Connection.
For instructions on how to configure PPPoE in a Microsoft Vista
operating environment, go to www.microsoft.com and search on the
term PPPoE.

Verifying Connections
To verify that all the connections are active, check the LEDs on the
front of the unit.

provide the model and serial number of your unit.

Safety
Read the information below for important safety reminders.

Electrical Safety

Always use caution when handling electrical connections.


Never install electrical equipment in wet or damp conditions.
Be sure that the power source for the system is adequately rated
to assure safe operation and provides current overload protection.
Ensure nothing is allowed to rest on the power cable.
Ensure the power cable will not be walked or stepped on.
To avoid electric shock caused by over-voltage from the public
telephone network, do not connect this unit to an external
telephone connection.
Use only the power adapter supplied with this unit.

Caution: This unit does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Opening the
housing on this unit will void the warranty.

Laser Safety
Caution: Do not use controls, adjustments, or procedures other than specified.
This could result in hazardous laser radiation exposure.
Never look directly into an unterminated cable or connection.
Invisible laser radiation may be emitted from the ends of
unterminated fiber cables or connectors.
The AONT-100 uses a Class I laser device.
