Prerequisities: EE
TOPICS
1) Introduction to Signals and Their Mathematical Representation
2) Systems, Linearity, and Time Invariance
3) Superposition, Convolution, and Correlation
4) Differential Equations and LTI Systems
5) The Laplace Transform and Its Applications
6) Fourier Series, Fourier Transform
7) Frequency Response, and Analog Filters
HOMEWORKS
Homework will be assigned every other week, and six (6) in total are to be expected.
Discussion of homework problems with the instructor, TAs, and/or classmates is highly
encouraged. Nevertheless, all homework must be completed independently. Some
homework assignments may require Matlab/Simulink programming.
No late homework will be accepted.
DISCUSSIONS
Discussions are needed to re-enforce knowledge acquired during lectures. The
discussions will be split up into two parts: 1) problem solving skills; 2) quizzes.
Attendance is required.
EXAMS

Final:
All tests are open book, open notes. However communication gadgets (cell phones,
tables, laptops, etc) will not be allowed must be off, and notes/books sharing will be
strongly prohibited. Make-up exams are possible only under circumstances of sickness or
personal emergency.
