NOTICE
Guidelines for candidates coming for admission to B.E. and B.Arch at BIT Mesra through
CSAB (JEE-Main 2014) from 23rd July 2014 to 26th July 2014
We welcome all the candidates at BIT Mesra, who have been selected for admission to B.E. and
B.Arch programmes at BIT Mesra through CSAB (JEE -Main 2014). They should note the
following:
Reporting schedules: From 23rd July 2014 to 26th July 2014 (9:00am to 5:00pm each day)
Venue: Admission Office, Main Institute Building, BIT, Mesra, Ranchi
(A) Documents to carry at the time of reporting for admission:
1. Provisional admission letter issued by the Reporting Center (applicable to only those who
had reported at Reporting Centres in earlier rounds) / Provisional allotment letter in case of
4th round / Surrender letter (issued by the Reporting Center) with fresh provisional allotment
letter in case the candidate surrenders after third round of allotment.
2. Printout of locked choices and terms and conditions dully singed by the candidate
(applicable to those getting seat allotments for the first time in fourth round)
3. Printout of Provisional Allotment Letter.
4. Originals Documents / Certificates:
a) Photo ID Card as per Govt. of India norms
b) Admit Card of JEE (Main) 2014
c) Score card of JEE (Main) 2014 issued by CBSE (downloadable score card is
acceptable).
d) Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth.
e) Certificate and marksheet of qualifying examination (candidates are also advised to
see section 6.4 for list of qualifying examination in the CSAB Information Brochure
2014)
f) Certificate of category (SC/ST) issued by the competent authority in the prescribed
format (See Annexure-III in the CSAB Information Brochure 2014) if, applicable.
[should be in proper format and signed by appropriate authority of rank not
less than SDO].
g) Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable (See Annexure-IV in the
CSAB Information Brochure 2014). The certificate should be issued from a duly
constituted Medical Board. The certificate should stand valid upto September 15,
2014. [Certificate not issued by a medical board or invalid / expired on the date of reporting shall not be
accepted in any case].

h) Passport, if the candidate has passed the qualifying examination from outside India,
this is required for determining the State from which eligible.
i) Proof of place of examination Centre of the final examination from the Nation Open
School for candidates having Senior Secondary Certificate, this is required for
determining the State of eligibility.
One set of self-attested copies of all the documents listed above.
One passport size photograph, identical to the photograph pasted on the JEE (Main) 2014
application form.
Migration Certificate
School Leaving / Transfer Certificate from the college / school last attended.

Candidates are advised to keep sufficient number of attested copies of above documents /
certificates for their future use.

Notes:
1. Hostel mess charges at Mesra will range from approximately Rs. 2,000/- to Rs. 3,000/- per month.
Students at Mesra will be required to deposit Hostel Caution Money* (One Time only Refundable) of Rs.5,000/-. They will also be required to pay suitable mess advance at the
beginning of each semester, which will be adjusted against their mess charges. For the July
2014 session, this mess advance will be Rs. 15,000/- (boys), Rs. 10,000/- (Girls).
*Hostel Caution Money (One Time only - Refundable) and Hostel Mess Advance (each semester) are
payable by crossed Demand Draft in favour of BIT Hostels Mess Account payable at Ranchi.
2. All other fees must be paid by crossed Demand Draft in favour of Birla Institute of Technology
payable at Ranchi.
3. Students will be expected to provide themselves with stationery and textbooks, etc, as prescribed for
different subjects.
4. The Institute reserves the right to revise the fees and other charges at any stage.
5. For rules regarding refund of fees on withdrawal, please see separate Notice on Notice Boards.

Notes:

(D) How to reach the Institute:


Birla Institute of Technology is located in a campus at Mesra, about 17 kilometers from Ranchi Railway
Station, 25 kilometers from Ranchi Airport, 27 kilometers from Hatia Railway Station. Taxi and
Autorickshaw are available from Ranchi/Hatia Railway/Bus Station/ Airport to BIT Mesra.
From Jamshedpur (Tatanagar) (By Bus / Taxi) - 137 Kms
From Ramgarh Cant Junction (By Bus / Taxi) - 25 Kms
From Barkakhana Junction (By Bus / Taxi) - 35 Kms
From Hatia Rly Station (By Bus / Taxi) - 17 Kms

(E) Temporary accommodation in the Hostels for guardians / parents of the candidates:
Outstation candidates guardians / parents requiring accommodation in hostels during the
admission dates should report to following persons:
For Male Report to Hostel Clerk at Hostel No 10
For Female Report to Hostel Clerk at Hostel No 08
Accommodation and meals may be provided on request on payment basis.
NB: Registration for the 1st semester will be done immediately after admission in the CAD
Lab of the Institute. Classes will commence from 1st August 2014.
