How do the core values of MSEUF affect its students lives?
The core values of the university have five pillars, namely: PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE, RESPECT FOR HUMAN DIGNITY, SOCIAL JUSTICE WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF DEMOCRACY, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, and PEACE AND HARMONY. These in themselves expound how the students of Enverga are defined and affected by the University. Passion is a force that drives us to act; excellence is the basis for setting goals and achievement. Simply put, the university encourages its students to have the will, the drive, to achieve and to reach for their highest dreams and aspirations. Respect for human dignity sums up how one must treat his fellowmen; respect being the key to the recognition of each others rights and differences. Another pillar of the core values defines ways on how the society could step forward as a unit. Concern for the poor is merely one of the ways; it doesnt matter whether one is below or above being impoverished, what really matters is that we always look after each other. Leadership plays a big role in the exercise of authority, and knowing how people around you fare is an essential part of making decisions as a leader. Sustainable development encourages students to not be contented to simply developing and advancing. It takes more than that. Harmony with nature is an evidence of that. One must consider not just himself but also his surroundings. This is particularly important since one man can never be an island. Finally, peace and harmony is essential since this allows people in a society to meld together to promote the common good. As a student, I believe that the core values will allow me to develop myself not just as a learning, growing and striving individual; it will also mold me into a fully functional part of society, a part of a great blueprint. I will be taught to consider every aspect of living as it is, including all which may directly or indirectly affect me. I will be taught to be sensitive to the needs of people around me, so that, in the future, I will be able to work harmoniously with different types of people, maybe as a leader or as a cog which fits perfectly into various organizations.
