relatively stress free (well as stress free as moving
can be), and I want to extend a BIG thank you to
Simon Main and Kevin Mounsey for helping my
family move. Its not all trouble free though. The
shower at the school house...well lets say a 90 year
old with prostate issues probably flows better than
the shower at the house. Still, you cant win them
all.
Recently we have had a number of visitors in the
school looking at a range of things; from our
modernised classrooms, to our M.I.L.C. system, to
just generally looking at what we do. The feedback
has been fantastic. Staff from Tauhei school were
very impressed with our revamped rooms and we
have inspired them to try and achieve something
similar in their own school. Visitors from the
Education Review Office and Te Toi Tupu
(education support contract company), all had
positive things to say about out learning and
teaching programmes and the way many of our
students were able to talk knowledgably about their
learning.

From Public Health Nurse Wendy King:

There has been an increase in skin

infections on the childrens faces at several
schools.
This can be serious due to nearness to the
eyes and the nose.
They need to be seen and treated by a
doctor
If possible cover with a plaster
If wet and weeping stay at home
Wash hands with soap after touching,
cleaning or putting on ointment

To celebrate Matariki (Maori New Year), and to

welcome new people to the community (and
have a good old social time with those of you
who have been around for a while!), we will be
having a hangi/movie night at school. We will be
putting down the hangi during the day with the
serving of dinner from 5pm . We will then have
two movie choices for the juniors and seniors.
Films to start at 6pm.

Any donations of Roasts, Potatos,

Pumpkin, Kumara or Carrots will
be greatly appreciated.
