Conditions of approval
Water service and water meter installations are subject to the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2002, Water
Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 and the Council of the City of Gold Coast (City) policies.
All water service and water meter relocations, following the original installation, will be at the owners
expense.
The downgrading of a water meter requires approval of a hydraulics engineer. The certified hydraulic plans
or a letter from a qualified person must be attached to the application.
The owner grants permission to the City to enter the property to undertake the requested works.
The City may enter the land concerned to effect any necessary alterations or repairs to the water service or
water meter.
The City may shut off the supply of water, without notice, for such period as the City deem necessary for
repairs, alterations or additions to the water supply system. Prior notice will be provided wherever possible.
All design, construction and materials will be in accordance with City requirements within the SEQ Water
Supply & Sewerage Design & Construction Code.
Where a quotation request contains insufficient information, the quotation will not proceed until the
applicant has provided the required information.
Quotation for connection to the Citys non-residential recycled water network requires written approval from
the Citys Recycled Water section.
Disconnection of the water service and water meter will be at the owners expense.
All fees must be received in full prior to commencement of works.
