Revelation Lesson 1

SECOND DAY:
2 Peter 1:19-21
19 We also have the prophetic message as something
completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention
to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day
dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above
all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture
came about by the prophets own interpretation of things.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but
prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were
carried along by the Holy Spirit.
THIRD & FOURTH DAY:
Isaiah 45:21
21 Declare what is to be, present it
let them take counsel together.
Who foretold this long ago,
who declared it from the distant past?
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no God apart from me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none but me.
Amos 3:7
7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.
2 Timothy 3:16
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
Hebrews 11:32-40
32 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell
about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about
David and Samuel and the prophets, 33 who through faith
conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained
what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge
of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength;
and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign
armies. 35 Women received back their dead, raised to life
again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to
be released so that they might gain an even better
resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even
chains and imprisonment. 37 They were put to death by
stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the
sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins,
destitute, persecuted and mistreated 38 the world was
not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and
mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.

John 13:19
19 I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it
does happen you will believe that I am who I am.
John 14:29
29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it
does happen you will believe.

39 These

were all commended for their faith, yet none of

them received what had been promised, 40 since God had
planned something better for us so that only together with
us would they be made perfect.
1 Peter 1:10-12
10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of
the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and
with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and
circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was
pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah
and the glories that would follow. 12 It was revealed to
them that they were not serving themselves but you,
when they spoke of the things that have now been told
you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the
Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look
into these things.
Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The
virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call
him Immanuel.
Isaiah 9:6-7
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on Davids throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness

from that time on and forever.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
Luke 1:26-27
26 In the sixth month of Elizabeths pregnancy, God sent
the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a
virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a
descendant of David. The virgins name was Mary.
Micah 5:2
2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.
Matthew 2:1-6
2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the
time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to
Jerusalem 2 and asked, Where is the one who has been
born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and
have come to worship him.
3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all
Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the
peoples chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked
them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 In Bethlehem
in Judea, they replied, for this is what the prophet has
written:
6 But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.
Isaiah 53:3-6
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
4 Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;

and the Lord has laid on him

the iniquity of us all.
Matthew 27:22-26
22 What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the
Messiah? Pilate asked. They all answered, Crucify
him! 23 Why? What crime has he committed? asked
Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, Crucify him!
24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that
instead an uproar was starting, he took water and
washed his hands in front of the crowd. I am innocent of
this mans blood, he said. It is your responsibility!
25 All the people answered, His blood is on us and on our
children! 26 Then he released Barabbas to them. But he
had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.
Matthew 7:15-20
15 Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in
sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick
grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad
tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit,
and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that
does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the
fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Deuteronomy 18:21-22
21 You may say to yourselves, How can we know when a
message has not been spoken by the Lord? 22 If what a
prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take
place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not
spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do
not be alarmed.
Matthew 24:24
24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and
perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible,
even the elect.
2 Peter 2:1
2 But there were also false prophets among the people,
just as there will be false teachers among you. They will
secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the
sovereign Lord who bought thembringing swift
destruction on themselves.
1 John 4:1
4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the
spirits to see whether they are from God, because many
false prophets have gone out into the world.

Revelation Lesson 1

FIFTH DAY:
Deuteronomy 18:15-19
15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like
me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must
listen to him. 16 For this is what you asked of the Lord
your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you
said, Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor
see this great fire anymore, or we will die.
17 The Lord said to me: What they say is good. 18 I will
raise up for them a prophet like you from among their
fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He
will tell them everything I command him. 19 I myself will
call to account anyone who does not listen to my words
that the prophet speaks in my name.
Deuteronomy 34:10
10 Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses,
whom the Lord knew face to face,
John 5:46
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he
wrote about me.
Acts 3:18-23
18 But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold
through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would
suffer. 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins
may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come
from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Messiah, who

has been appointed for youeven Jesus. 21 Heaven must

receive him until the time comes for God to restore
everything, as he promised long ago through his holy
prophets. 22 For Moses said, The Lord your God will raise
up for you a prophet like me from among your own
people; you must listen to everything he tells you.
23 Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely
cut off from their people.
Luke 24:44-47
44 He said to them, This is what I told you while I was still
with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about
me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.
45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand
the Scriptures. 46 He told them, This is what is written:
The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the
third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins
will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at
Jerusalem.
John 14:3
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back
and take you to be with me that you also may be where I
am.
Matthew 16:27
27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Fathers
glory with his angels, and then he will reward each
person according to what they have done.
