Weakness
Spicy food !!
Areatoworkon(Weakpoint)

I think one area I could work on is my delegation skills. I am always so concerned

about everything being done right and on time that I can get stuck in that mentality
of If you want it done right, do it yourself. Unfortunately, thats not always
possible and Ive realized that I can slow things down if I am too controlling.
I learned this recently when given the opportunity to manage the companys
summer interns. I had never managed direct reports before, so this was a hugely
educational experience in many different ways. It definitely taught me how to
delegate and my manager noticed the difference in my management style at the
end of the summer. I know that I can benefit from additional development in this

area, so I signed up for a management skills training course and am always

looking for opportunities to manage projects for our group.

Being organized wasn't my strongest point, but I implemented a time

management system that really helped my organization skills.

Example 1: Delegation
Why It Works: This is a great example for a junior-level employee in a role in
which delegation abilities are not critical. Please note that the last sentence in the
first paragraph is important because it acknowledges how the weakness can be a
problem and why its worth working on.
The weakness is acknowledged and described, but the emphasis is more on how the
candidate has sought out ways to improve.
Keep in mind that this is not such a terrific answer if youre applying for a job that
requires you to manage people.

Example 2: Too Direct

Sometimes I can be a bit too honest when I provide feedback to coworkers. My
personality is naturally very straightforward and to the point, and most of my
colleagues really value that, but I have learned that there are times on the job when
more diplomacy is required.
I took a training class on conflict management and it really opened my eyes to the
need to communicate differently with different people. So now I am much better at
providing constructive feedback, even if it doesnt always come naturally.
Why It Works: This weakness is described well. The candidate notes how
directness has been a weakness while also making it clear that he is not a raging jerk
to his coworkers.
In the second part, he talks about concrete steps that he has taken and how he has
improved.

Example 3: Public Speaking

Honestly, I would say that public speaking is an area that I could work on. I tend
to get nervous when asked to present to a large group of people. In small team
meetings, Im the first one to stand up and present. But put me in front of a big
group and I can get flustered.
I actually spoke to my manager about this and we set it as one of my development
goals for this year. I took an internal presentation skills class and attended some
meetings of Toastmasters, a networking group for people who want to practice
public speaking. With some practice, I started to feel more comfortable. Last
month, I even volunteered to represent our team at a division-wide town hall. I
only had to present for 10 minutes, but I did it and got great feedback! It was

actually kind of fun, so I plan on continuing to seek out opportunities to improve in

this area.
Why It Works: Fear of public speaking is a common fear. In this sample answer,
the candidate makes it clear that she has no trouble communicating in general
(which could be a red flag). Its just getting up in front of a big group that scares her.
She goes on to describe how she identified the weakness, spoke with her manager
about it, and then took proactive steps to improve. She even has a little triumph at
the end.

Tell me about yourself.

o Walk me through your resume
o Why Workday?
o How are we different from other solutions?
o How do you describe the cloud and SaaS to a person that doesnt know too much about
computers, internet?
o What qualities you bring to this position?
o What projects have you worked on?
o Do you have any customer service experience?
o Tell me about your latest project youve worked on?
o Tell me about a course that was really hard and what did you do, what was your
approach to get the content and pass the class?
o How do you do your research?
o Tell me about a professor you didnt like and one that you liked.
o Tell me about manager that really annoyed you and a manager that really impressed
you.
o Talk about a challenged project, situation!
o Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
o Why do you think this position fits you?

What qualities do you bring to company?

My strongest attribute is my determination. I take on every challenge
head-on and do what I need to accomplish my goals, even when the
challenge is difficult.
In my past organizations, I have established my quick learning skills.

How to Answer Where Do You See Yourself in 5 Years?

Well Im really excited by this position at XXXX because in five years, Id like to be
seen as someone with deep expertise in this (hi-tech, energy, etc) sector, and I
know thats something that Ill have an opportunity to do here.
Im also really excited to take on more managerial responsibilities in the next few
years and potentially even take the lead on some projects. Ive been lucky
enough to work with some amazing managers, and so developing into a great
manager myself is something Im really excited about.
Why should we hire you?

You should hire me because I'm a very reliable and dependable

person. I am very self motivated and have a great ability to work
on a team as well as by myself
Tell me about about yourself

On a personal note, I am a very creative person. I do portrait

sketching and dancing. This helps me relax and think of creative
ideas. I have a beautiful family, living in the beautiful bayarea in
CA I am a very happy-go person.
Now, coming to the business side, I have always been a good
programmer. I had been C++, Java programmer for 5 yrs in SDLC.
Later that helped me give very good eyes for troubleshooting the
process flow in any software application. Since I understand
architecture or the big picture of the biz apps, I started exploring
in business analysis.
I joined ACN, worked for various clients (VMware, Polycom, Cisco,
FB, Sforce). Particularly I would like to mention the most recent
one Sforce. I had a very exciting experience doing integration of
Coupa with Oracle Purchasing module. I was the lead for the
solution; worked with Onsite/off-shore resources as well as the
different groups of biz users. Having a good knowledge of the
business processes as well as how the application works helps
in a big way.
Later, I worked for a hi-tech company, RMS, 300mill revenue
company risk management software providers for catastrophe
modeling and things like that. They are premium products for
insurance providers, etc. I supported predominantly their new

Oracle R12 implementation and also few other supporting

boundary apps Sforce, Workday.
Tell me about your experience as the liaison between the developers and the business
users.
As an Oracle Techno-Functional Consultant, I have played the liason role between the developers
and business users in many engagements. Here are a few customer engagements:
Accenture Consultant at Salesforce.com for the Integration of Oracle E-Business Suite
with a cloud eProcument Solution. This was a Procure-2-Pay process automation project
and I led the Functional Specifications for the Integration. The Business group was the
Purchasing organization of the customer and Accenture development team.
At RMS, I led the requirements gathering for the SFDC integration with Oracle for Order
Management.
Can you walk me through your technical aspects in your current position?
Navigating through the front-end both in 11.5 and R12 is my plus. I know my way around, knowing
the tips and tricks and some keyboard shortcuts.
When there are issues/concerns from users, I would try to differentiate between user-training/setup
issues/transaction(data) issues/future-enhancements.

For setup issues, going through the front end helps; for data issues, backend access is a must.

Lot of time I would be troubleshooting the application using the PL/SQL with SQL Developer,
o getting the data extract for the functional/business users using complicated
SELECT queries.
o Analyzing the PL/SQL packages for the programs that errors out or the
ones in question.

What is the most complex project implementation youve ever worked on?

Business transformation project -11.5.10 implementation for one of my clients in LA. This was a
full-blown implementation from business consulting to go-live.

Challenging lot of change management, since the legacy systems were to be retired.

Longer Training process Even train-the-trainer approach took long .

What projects are you working on in your current role?

Order management solution using Salesforce platform.

Oracle BRM support project.

Just starting on vendor selection for Hyperion for consolidation.

Mostly on production support, including mini projects.

What domains in Oracle have you been working with? What Modules?

Oracle P2P track, predominantly.

Supporting Oracle Financials (AP, AR, GL, FA), iExpenses, iProcurement, OTL (Oracle Time and
Labor) and Oracle Projects (PA)
