Congratulations to Ernst W. Bruderer, with Overterra, who was recently
awarded the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designa-
tion. Bruderer completed rigorous coursework devoted to learning cultural
differences and international business practices. He joins a society of
only 1,500 real estate professionals throughout the world, and is the first
member of HHAAOR to earn this distinction.

Fair & Affordable Housing Promotes awareness of fair housing practices, sponsors seminars, disseminates information on fair housing laws, and
involves the Association in outreach programs with other agencies concerned with fair and affordable housing.
Grievance Conducts preliminary evaluation of all formal written ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine validity and
substance and the need for further consideration by the Professional Standards Committee. Not all who volunteer will be
appointed. Attendance at Annual Professional Standards Workshop is required.
Legislative / Legal Affairs Monitors local, state, and national governmental activities affecting the real estate industry. Reports concerns and
recommends positions. Conducts political and legal awareness programs. Recommends expenditures of RPAC funds.
Marketing / Public Relations Researches and develops promotional projects for all media to reinforce public awareness of the difference between
a REALTOR® and a licensee and to help create the best possible image for HHAAOR and its Members.
Membership Recruits new members and promotes retention of current members. Reviews applications to ensure conformance
with by-laws. Follows up with new members.
Professional Development In coordination with other committees, researches, recommends, develops and/or conducts educational programs for
members to enhance their skills and make them more professional REALTORS®.
Professional Standards Hears violations of the Code of Ethics and arbitration matters referred by the Grievance Committee and issues
decisions. Not all who volunteer will be appointed. Attendance at Annual Professional Standards Workshop is required.
REALTOR® Ball Plans, organizes, and decorates for the annual REALTOR® Ball. Solicits table sponsors.
REALTOR® Service Award Reviews and recommends revisions to the RSA rules. Processes applications and recommends awards. Assists with
any recognition functions.
RPAC Raises funds to support REALTOR® issues/candidates. Promotes participation of all members.
Special Events Planning and coordinating of special events such as golf and tennis outings.
Technology Investigates all technological services and tools that aid members in improving individual skills. Provides classes and
training to raise members’ skill levels, while seeking reduced cost services for group participation with local, state, or
national vendors.
Task Force From time to time, the Board needs to appoint members to serve for specific tasks that last for a short duration. If
you cannot take on a full year commitment, you may want to volunteer in this manner.
