Assignment Protocol

This is an individual assignment. Perform this take home exam on your own.
Tutors (including peer tutors) and academic staff are not able to help you with this
assessment item.

2.1

Declaration

The declaration document EGB120-Declaration.pdf is a statement to say that you

have performed this take home exam on your own.
You must sign and include it with your submission. Submissions without a completed declaration are treated as incomplete and will not be
marked.

2.2

The Report

Your document should accurately demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the subject area. For example, if the question asks you to
draw a circuit diagram, then draw the circuit diagram. If the question asks you to
calculate certain values, then calculate the values.
Explanations of steps used are essential, and will be carefully accounted for in
assessment. Best marks are awarded to logically and numerically correct solutions.
Partial credit will be awarded to partially complete solutions or incorrect solutions
where errors have carried through the calculations. You are to state any and all
assumptions that you have made.
Your report does not have to be typed, but hand written assignments are expected
to be legible, and that it can be followed in a coherent manner.
Your report is to be in the pdf file format. Reports that are not in pdf are
treated as incomplete and will not be marked.

Files to submit

There are two files you need to submit, these are

(1) Your completed Declaration document.
(2) Your report.
Please make sure that both of these files are in the pdf file format.

Do not zip or archive your submissions. Blackboard supports the submission of multiple files. Zipped submissions will not be marked.

3.2

How to submit

Assignments are to be submitted in soft-copy through QUT Blackboard

before the submission deadline.
Do not email your submissions, they will not be marked.

You may submit as many times as you like before the deadline. However, only the
latest submission will be marked.
All documents can be reviewed after submission. It is your responsibility to verify that the uploaded documents are not corrupt. Corrupt files are treated as
incomplete assignments.

Late Submissions

Submission deadline is on the 7th of September 2015 at 8:00 am. Assignments

received after this time will not be marked and will receive a mark of zero, as per
QUT policy.
You may apply for and be granted an extension of time beyond the due date if
you experience special circumstances. There is a single system for applying for an
assignment extension. Find more information on the extension website.
2

You will need to apply for your extension before the assignment due date. If there
are circumstances beyond your control that have prevented you from doing this,
talk to your faculty support services team.
If you are not eligible for an extension, submit the work you have done by the due
date and it will be marked against the assessment criteria.
If you have not received an approved extension by the assignment due date, you
should submit the work you have done and attach your acknowledgement email
for your extension submission. If your extension request is not approved, the work
you submitted will be marked against the assessment criteria

Academic Integrity

Section E/8.1.1 of the QUT Manual of Policies and Procedures states that
As members of the University community, students must conduct
themselves in a manner consistent with the standards of behaviour set
out in the QUT Student Code of Conduct (E/2.1) and other related
policies. These standards of behaviour promote the good order and
management of the University, and academic integrity.
Review the learning practices that promote academic integrity before you begin
your assignment, and once again before you submit your assignment.
