ISO 10628 (1997) Flow diagrams for process plants: General Rules. 1st ed.
(International Organization for Standardization)
This International Standard establishes general rules for the preparation of flow
diagrams for process plants. These diagrams represent the configuration and function of
process plants and form integral parts of the complete technical documentation necessary
for planning, mechanical engineering, erecting, managing, commissioning, operating,
maintaining and decommissioning of a plant.
Instrumentation Systems and Automation Society Design Code ISA-5.1-1984 (R1992)
International standard symbols for instruments, controllers, and valves are given by
the Instrumentation Systems and Automation Society design code ISA-5.1-1984 (R1992).
The symbolism and identification methods provided in this standard are applicable to all
classes of process measurement and control instrumentation. They can be used not only to
describe discrete instruments and their functions, but also to describe the analogous
functions of systems which are variously termed "shared display," "shared control,"
"distributed control," and "computer control."
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
(BPVC)
The pressure vessel design codes and standards include lists of acceptable
materials, in accordance with the appropriate material standards. The ASME BPV Code
Sec. II Part D gives maximum allowable stresses as a function of temperature and maximum
temperatures permitted under Sections I, III, VIII, and XII of the BPV code for ferrous and
nonferrous metals. The design of pressure vessels using reinforced plastics is described in
ASME BPV Code Sec. X.
API 650: Welded Steel Tanks for Oil Storage, 10th Edition
This standard is designed to provide the petroleum industry with tanks of adequate
safety and reasonable economy for use in the storage of petroleum, petroleum products,
and other liquid products commonly handled and stored by the various branches of the
petroleum industry. It is intended to help purchasers and manufacturers in ordering,
fabricating, and erecting tanks.

DIN 4119-1: Above-ground Cylindrical Flat-bottomed Tank Installations of Metallic

Materials; Fundamentals, Design, Tests EPA 080/12
This guideline applies to facilities that use or store liquids above ground, and
provides information on bunds or spill containment systems to minimize the risk of
environmental harm from liquid spills and leaks
AS 1940-2004: The Storage and Handling of Flammable and Combustible Liquids This
Standard deals with flammable liquids of dangerous goods Class 3, as classified in
the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous GoodsModel Regulations, and
combustible liquids. The objective of this Standard is to promote the safety of persons and
property where flammable or combustible liquids are stored or handled, by providing
requirements and recommendations that are based on industry best practices.
API 2000-1998: Venting Atmospheric and Low Pressure Storage Tanks
This standard covers the normal and emergency vapor venting requirements for
aboveground liquid petroleum or petroleum products storage tanks, and aboveground and
underground refrigerated storage tanks designed for operating at pressures from vacuum
through 15 pounds per square inch gauge (1.034 bar gauge).
ASME B36.10M2000 - Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipe
This standard covers standardization of dimensions of welded and seamless
wrought steel pipe for high or low temperatures and pressures.
ASME B16.10-2000: Valves Flanged, Threaded and Welded Ends
Standards for valves are set by the ASME B16 Standards Committee and can be
ordered from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. General standards are
described in ASME B16.34-2004 (ASME, 2004), while valve dimensions are given in ASME
B16.102000 (ASME, 2000). Valve design is covered by Pearson (1978). This Standard
applies to new construction and covers pressure, temperature ratings, dimensions,
tolerances, materials, nondestructive examination requirements, testing, and marking for
cast, forged, and fabricated flanged, threaded, and welding end and wafer or flangeless
valves of steel, nickel-base alloys, and other alloys.

ASME B31.3 - 2012 - Process Piping

Design of chemical and petroleum plants and refineries processing chemicals and
hydrocarbons, water and steam. This Code contains rules for piping typically found in
petroleum refineries; chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, paper, semiconductor, and cryogenic
plants; and related processing plants and terminals.
This Code prescribes requirements for materials and components, design,
fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, and testing of piping. This Code
applies to piping for all fluids including: (1) raw, intermediate, and finished chemicals; (2)
petroleum products; (3) gas, steam, air and water; (4) fluidized solids; (5) refrigerants; and
(6) cryogenic fluids. Also included is piping which interconnects pieces or stages within a
packaged equipment assembly.
ASME B36.10M2000: Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipe
This standard covers standardization of dimensions of welded and seamless
wrought steel pipe for high or low temperatures and pressures.
Standards of the Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association, Seventh ed., 1988
TEMA is a set of standards developed by leading heat exchanger manufacturers
that defines the design and manufacturing parameters of shell and tube type heat
exchangers. TEMA stands for Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association. TEMA
standards provide a recognized approach to end users and allow comparison between
competitive designs for a given application.
Presidential Decree No. 1067 National Water Code of the Philippines
This act establishes the basic principles and framework relating to the appropriation,
control and conservation of water resources to achieve the optimum development and
rational utilization of these resources. It defines also the extent of the rights and obligations
of water users and owners including the protection and regulation of such rights.
Furthermore, it adopts a basic law governing the ownership, appropriation, utilization,
exploitation, development, conservation, and protection of water resources and rights to land
